Publisher's Summary

If you need some zombies killed, who do you call? The Lucky Thirteen. A few weeks have passed since the events in Aurora, and Bree, Nate, and the gang are back on the road. The odd mall to raid, cattle to herd, provisions to deliver - all no match for our trusty group of scavengers. The world is yours for the taking when killing zombies becomes routine. Yet with temperatures rising in late spring, a new menace appears on the post-apocalyptic theater of war. Roving bands, thousands of zombies strong, are scouring the country, and already the first settlements are going dark. In a world where every human life is valuable, losing hundreds at once is not an option. What makes the zombies band together like that - and, more importantly, why are the tough ones even harder to kill than mere months ago? Bree may wish that she's just paranoid, but she can't shake the suspicion that finding a cure may not be the only cause the government is pouring resources into. But to what end?

this one wasn't as good as the previous books

I think what I liked about the other books that I didn't quite get here this book felt more like it was more civilized I should say. I know there was a zombies and so forth however there was a lot of civilization stuff going on here that kind of took from the story for me. I like the books that are more where it's just the character or characters and the ever-present zombie apocalypse type of environment where they're constantly trying to struggle and fight through. This one didn't seem to have that for me it had more of the civilization type City type feel to it. I'll look forward to the next book to see if it reverts back to some of the things that I really enjoyed about this series.

Not the best zombie series but worth a listen.

I got this series when I read all the reviews. I liked the narrator but the main character was getting on my nerves.

I felt like yelling at Bri..."pick a side....bad ass zombie killer or stereotypical nagging woman" . and I am a woman so I can say that...lol.

My favorite characters were Nate, Pia and Andre.

Nail-biting addition to series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this is a great addition to the series

What did you like best about this story?

Lead characters are flawed, but human. It makes the story more enjoyable to see Bree grow into a kickass heroine that still makes mistakes, can get scared and overwhelmed but continues to fight even when out gunned.

Which scene was your favorite?

Final climatic fight between the Lucky 13 and the government soldiers it's a nail biter, the only reason I gave this a four rating as opposed to a five is that Adrienne Lecter finished the book on one hell of a cliff hanger. I'll be waiting very impatiently for the resolution to how the book ended.
