The sensational new crime novel from the bestselling author of SNAP

IT WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE MURDER . . .

Pensioner Felix Pink is about to find out that it’s never too late . . . for life to go horribly wrong.

When Felix lets himself in to Number 3 Black Lane, he’s there to perform an act of kindness and charity: to keep a dying man company as he takes his final breath . . .

But just fifteen minutes later Felix is on the run from the police – after making the biggest mistake of his life.

Now his routine world is turned upside down as he tries to discover what went wrong, while staying one step ahead of the law.

Exit is the heart-pounding, heart-breaking, and often hilarious new novel from Sunday Times bestselling author Belinda Bauer.

Critic Reviews

Such warmth and wit.
A crime novel . . . but not as you know it.
Beady-eyed yet tender, it resembles a collaboration between Agatha Christie and Muriel Spark.
Fresh, funny, flawless: EXIT is a joy from start to finish.
Charming, intensely human . . . and very suspenseful. I loved it.
EXIT is ingeniously plotted and every word is perfect. It’s a rare book that has you turning the pages impatiently, desperate to solve the mystery, all the while never wanting it to end because it’s such a joy to read. Felix Pink is the most loveable killer in recent fiction.
Twisty, brilliantly plotted and funny too. Felix Pink is a wonderful character and I just wanted to hug him. (He'd be horrified!)
Cleverly plotted, touching and funny.
EXIT is the perfect antidote to the nervy gloom of this shut-down world. It's warm and funny and dark and sad all at the same time, beautifully plotted and paced, and peopled with fabulous, complex characters that have drawn me right into their lives. Felix is fast becoming one of my favourite fictional characters.
This darkly funny crime novel has possibly the most unique concept I've come across: 75-year-old Felix is part of a network called the Exiteers, who sit with people who have chosen to end their lives. Except on his most recent mission, something goes wrong and Felix finds himself on the run for murder. For fans of Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie books.

A brilliant read, with very well drawn characters, humour and sadness in a clever plot.

Unputdownable !

It took me a couple of chapters to realize the tone of this story- you’ll know it when you reach the last line of that chapter. But once I had, it kept me entertained and smiling. Believable characters, a few red herrings, tied up neatly with a sense of right.

It's official. I'm a confirmed Belinda Bauer fan. I really enjoyed the Exmoor trilogy, but I liked Exit even more. What an unusual story and the old men were surprisingly intriguing characters.

While I think Tim Mcinerney is a wonderful film and TV actor, and he certainly has a beautiful voice, I was rather disappointed with his range of character voices. His women's voices were dreadful and the varied police officers, male and female, were made to sound like pantomime yokels. What a pity the chap who read two of the Exmoor books could not have read this.

I look forward to listening to every Belinda Bauer book I can find.

Belinda Bauer never disappoints.

From the Guy Ritchie tie-in plot, the characters, the very English descriptions, the subtle humour & the beautiful voice of the narrator - this has had me chuckling throughout the novel. Needed this kind of book in my playlist - thank you Belinda

The most delightful listen I have had in a while

One of my favourite books this year. I laughed I cried I couldn’t stop reading. I will recommend it to all my reading friends and now look for more books written by Belinda Bauer. She’s a terrific author. Yes this is so worth a read.
