Great sequel

Amazing book just like every other one of C.A. Rudolphs books and once again a great performance by the narrator Kevin Pierce

Not what I expected

I enjoyed volume 1 but #2 not so much. The pace is really slow. I read this genre a lot and was looking forward to the hybrid aspects of this series. I’m about halfway through and am considering returning the book. I’m not sure why I should care about how much these men love their wives. Certainly not over multiple chapters of endless discussion. We need more action , less soul searching. Spoiler alert- save the Russian mafia for a separate series. I have listened to Kevin Pierce on many occasions and have loved his work. Not this time. The two main male characters sound exactly alike. I had to listen to several sections twice to make sure who was speaking.

Another homerun.

I started listening to this last night, and had it not been for some appointments I had in the morning, I probably would have ended up listening to it straight through. I've been a huge fan of C.A. Rudolph's since the release of the very first book in his What's Left of My World series. And I was thrilled when last fall he came out with a new series. This book, Everything I Die For is the 2nd book in that new series, and it is truly unique series. He labels it as a post-apocalyptic/espionage adventure, and that's almost exactly what it is. Almost? Yes, Almost, because post-apocalyptic doesn't give a truly accurate description of the series...at least not yet. You see the apocalypse hasn't actually happened yet, but during these first two books you will witness the world sliding toward it, which I find to be an incredibly fresh take. Most Post-Apocalyptic novels show you a little of the world before it ends and then a massive struggle to survive afterward. Don't get me wrong, I love those books too, but Rudolph's slow burn of the world just starting to crumble is so dang cool. Without giving any spoilers, this book picks up very soon after the end of the previous book, and once again we end up mainly following two main sets of characters: a badass husband/wife team (former spies/assassins), and a prepper family (whose son seems to have a way of falling into more trouble than he can handle.) The book features a great storyline and over the top action. And while the story is incredibly focused on these characters, I love the subtle way Rudolph reminds us of how society is beginning to crumble without that really being the main focus of the story, more like he's hinting about how bad things are likely to get in future volumes. I absolutely can't wait to see what happens next. Now as I said, I've been reading C.A. Rudolph's books from the very beginning, and as great as they are, you know what's even better than reading them? Listening to Kevin Pierce's narration. Rudolph's words paired with Pierce's voice is a killer combination. I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Not what I expected. Great diversion.

Great. I had to finish it. Character development was sufficient to want a follow up story.

One of the most interesting SHTF stories around.

I love the hybrid genre angle on this one. Just as with part 1, part 2 was great to listen to. The narration was top quality, the characters refreshingly diverse and realistic, and the plot was entertaining throughout the entire book. Really hoping we get a part 3.

Excellent!

Another killer thriller by C. A. Rudolph! Great characters & action, sprinkled with same well-timed humor (& sarcasm courtesy of my favorite purple-haired teenager!)
