Publisher's Summary

It was a mouthwatering kiss that changed everything....

One thing that held constant in Shelby Donovan’s life was her career. As a world-renowned artist, Shelby’s paintings traveled the globe, landing in museums and homes across the nation. But what she couldn’t seem to get under control was her love life. Her mother insisted it was because of her best friend, Sebastian Cartwright. They’ve known each other for years. Sebastian and Shelby shared everything; embarrassing moments, secrets, dating tips, affection, and even an explosive kiss during one tipsy night on Shelby’s birthday.

But, when Shelby’s current boyfriend asks for her hand in marriage, she should be excited, dancing, ready...but she isn’t. In fact, Shelby can’t stop thinking about the kiss she shared with Sebastian. It had to be a fluke, right? A simple, delicious, fiery kiss that pulled at her loins and caused her heartbeat to slam against her ribcage. Honestly, it rocked her world and thoughts of what could be played like piano keys in her head. But their friendship was too important to mix with the uncertainty of a relationship. Even worse, what if Sebastian didn’t feel the same way? It could ruin everything.

Should Shelby accept the marriage proposal or shed her fears and open up to her best friend? Find out in Everything I Always Wanted.

Pretty Good Storyline

⭐⭐⭐3.5 stars for story
⭐⭐⭐⭐4.5 stars for the narration/performance

I always enjoy a good friends to lover storyline.....There was some unnecessary back and forth...but Sebastian and Shelby really did care deeply for one another even as best friends....I think the story really would have been a lot better if this author did more research....there was some contradictions within the story for instance, about the length of time the two had been in each other's lives as well as about what an artist can earn working at a university and several other things I noticed....I understand the the idea of a romance novel, but I love realism within the story...it makes the story more relatable and more believable. Ms. Wesleigh did a fantastic job narrating, but I have to say, this time I wasn't so taken with Benjamin Charles' performance, he tried a little to hard this time....and for me it didn't go over well.

I’m So Confused by this story!

I have read several of this author’s books and have really come to appreciate her story telling. However, nothing about this story makes sense. How do two adults fall in love but know they are in love? How do you finally profess your love but not be sure if you’re in a relationship. When Shelby accepted a date in front of him from another man, I wanted to stop listening to the book. What is the point of making the characters sound like immature teenagers? The only highlight was the narrators. They were awesome.

Narration was Perfect 🥰

Disappointed with this story. It was super aggravating. Narrators kept me listening. I was surprised because I genuinely enjoy this Author's work. But this wasn't it. The best part of this entire book was the Epilogue.

More of the same

Annnnd, she's back with the corney pet names. This time it was Princess and Buttercup simultaneously and unnecessarily often. I have determined that Stephanie only knows one type of writing- a rich man that speaks a foreign language that uses corny pet names. Every. Single. Book. It is literally the same male character. And as much as I love black love (and I do love it) this author never changes her script, she just uses a different cast. It's more than redundant at this time and makes me feel like my money is being wasted. Also, while Wesleigh always does her thing, Benjamin made NO attempts at a female voice and he had very little inflection in his tone so his parts were just akward. Lastly, the way my 10yr old friendships are set up, we know when "untruths" are being told in our faces so how these two didn't know they were in love for half the book was beyond me.

In summation, if you have read or listened to any of the Rose or Valentine series, this is just more of the same with a different cast.

Friends and lovers best story

Friends the book was a roller coaster ride of passion and emotions. The two main characters Shelby and Sebastian drive me crazy with their push and pull. the magnetic force was so strong you felt it. I am a very big fan of the Valentine's and Rose's and Sebastian out did them all and I feel crazy writing this but chapter 19 and 23 Sis you wrote the hell out of Sebastian you made him Sexier then Julian Rose WTF. Bonus Points the narrators the Goddess herself my bestie hope she's yours Ms. Wesleigh Siobhan always killing the mic. The other one is Mr. Benjamin Charles dear Sir. I have a little crush on you. Your voice enthralled me it was deep smooth like silk but it had this like sexy growl to it. It was like a warm blanket over my body it was Sexy (in my soft voice). I enjoyed this love story. A good weekend listen to or read pick this one up.
