Publisher's Summary

I was dreading the Cunningham family reunion even before the first murder.

Before the storm stranded us at the mountain resort, snow and bodies piling up.

The thing is, us Cunninghams don't really get along. We've only got one thing in common: we've all killed someone.

My brother.

My step-sister.

My wife.

My father.

My mother.

My sister-in-law.

My uncle.

My stepfather.

My aunt.

Me.

A killer read

A clever and wonderful read. A whodunnit with so many twists and turns that I almost needed a chiropractor. The narrator actually speaks to the reader as if you're right there and even tells you what chapters the murders will happen. All the do's and don'ts of writing a murder mystery are laid out and he makes sure he keeps to his word throughout the book, helping you solve the mystery (but he still manages to get plenty of surprises in).

A superb read (or listen if on audible - Barton Welch did a fabulous job) that has me now looking up Benjamin's other titles.

Utterly unique

Such a unique crime novel! Stevenson has written this from the perspective of a survivor who has written a crime novel about his experiences, who is then describing the book and his experience to you the audience. So unusual but such an interesting narrative style. Completely recommend this book, even if only to hear this totally different approach to crime novels.

Quirky take on the murder mystery genre

Really enjoyed this quirky take on the murder mystery genre - highly recommend to those lovers of a twisty tale and hidden references scattered throughout the book.

Clever

Cleverly done in an almost conversational style with the main character leading you through the book he’s writing.

A Bold Start

The first half of this book is great; fresh, tounge in cheek, clever. The second half spirals downwards to a frankly preposterous ending. Perhaps I'm just not the right audience for this book, as crime fiction is not my go-to genre. I love the ambition of the book, but it almost feels like it was written by two separate authors. the narrator did an excellent job.

One of my all time favs mystery crime thrillers

I loved this book peppered with humor and glances through the third wall (not sure if correct term for a novel?) it was a thrilling, excellent written novel. One of those books you feel a bit sad finishing cos you wont hear from the characters again. The story, perhaps because of the fantastic narrator, reminded me of the Australian film "Two hands" and I binged it in 1 day. Aussie mystery crime fiction at its best 10 stars

Thoroughly enjoyable

Loved the 4th wall approach to storytelling. Haven't read anything by this author before but will definitely look for more. His voice is also enjoyable to listen to, I have really enjoyed hearing Australian accents reading our stories recently.

That is just awesome!
Fans of thriller will be delighted.
I had listened Sherlock Holmes definitive collection a few times and feel really happy to have pick up this one. I will go through it multiple times for sure!

Excellent.

Excellent book.

Excellent narration.

The very start threw me a bit, it deserved more of my attention and I was a bit distracted. It was unexpected, referencing what was going to happen. I loved it.

Australian author offers awesome ear candy

This was audio book was purchased for the front cover art.
And the story inside is brilliant,
deep breath… a family reunion,
long sigh… in the mountains, snorts and chortles abound.
Murder, familial angst and bloody mayhem
on a cold white background.
Fabulous thank you Benjamin :-)
