Great story!!!
Just finished “Evermore.” Sad to know that it’s over. Although the heroine is not portrayed as a “bad ass,” I liked her genuine vulnerability and compassion. I read some reviews that were apparently from what I think of as energy junkies. I see their expectations of lead characters as unrealistic. If the characters are too bold or self assured in this type of setting, I question how they survive in that era. Women didn’t have the freedom to behave in the same manner as men. I was glad you kept it in line with historical reality. I saw Emily as a humble young lady with a gift she never asked for, but used it for good and not self serving purposes. 💛💛💛

Perfect!
I wasn’t able to gear the other box so I’m gonna do it here as well. C. J. Archer is absolutely brilliant! Her books are so consuming and take you back in time to a place I would have loved to have loved. The story in this trilogy was captivating. I fell in love and hate with characters. The forbidden love is my favorite for some reason. The voice of Gemma Dawson is perfect. Thank you for taking me away on an adventure.

ok if you like period/historical books
To be perfectly honest, I really don't like historical/period stories. The reason why I picked this one up was because of the "medium" story line aspect. It's likely me more than the book because I prefer strong women both emotionally and in personality. and this era has "proper ladies" social rules etc -

A good ending, if predictable
This book is a good way to wrap up the aeries. It is entertaining and well-paced, for the most part. Some parts get mired in details and threaten to stall the action, but flipping ahead a bit fixes that. Unfortunately, the “twists” in the plot are glaringly obvious, so that element of surprise is not there. The series is tied up neatly in a very Beauty and the Beast fashion. If you like that sort of thing. Excellent narrator, though!

Predictable, but entertaining.
The story would be better if the motivations and characters were less dumb. It's enjoyable when there's clever plotlines with just enough hints to guess at what's happening- less so when it's so obvious that the characters must have concussions not to have done so themselves at the same time. And when you get to the reveal of the motivations of the villains and find it amounts to ridiculously overreacting emotional nonsense with no real fault in the protagonists worth mentioning since the author can't let them actually be responsible for anything bad, it's honestly a bit of a let down. It is, however, well performed- and entertaining enough to hold interest- and at least wraps things up solidly.

Absolutely superb series!
These 3 books were my first experience in to the paranormal. I tend to love historical Mystery Romantic books and my goodness this series was jam packed with the lot! Superbly written and narrated beautifully. You kind of guess where it will finish, but I had it the wrong way round, so still a big surprise at the end! Every book was worth every credit and I’m now about to read more from C.J.Archer

Enjoyable and different
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trilogy. it was nicely written and was also read extremely well. If I had a criticism it was that the ending was not a surprise - it was easily guessed. Even so I enjoyed the story and would read, or listen, to another of this authors.
