Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Corinne Michaels comes a new story in her Salvation series...

I was poised to become partner at my law firm even before I became secretly engaged to my boss. After being humiliated by him on my wedding day, I can’t face working for him any longer. So I quit, waving my middle finger on my way out.

Now the only things I’m poised for are unemployment and loneliness.

When an opportunity with Cole Security arises, it seems like the perfect way to run, all the way to Virginia Beach. I wasn’t expecting my childhood sweetheart to be there. I definitely wasn’t prepared that when we saw each other again, Benjamin Pryce would be so grown-up. So gorgeous. So Navy SEAL-ish.

And still the same guy who broke my heart when I was fifteen - and could do it again.

They say if you’re fooled once, shame on them. The second time, it’s on you. The third time, it’s going to be me that runs...unless he can convince me to stay forevermore.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Just okay...

This was a cute story but feel like Gretchen might have deserved a bit more of a story than this. I really didn't like the female narrator either, much too dramatic at times. Jason Clarke was great as Ben, but feel like we could have done with learning more about him, too.

The female had no self respect and whines a lot

The female lead was just ridiculous. The nation was fine the character just wasn’t likable.

Too short

I love the idea of finding out what happened in Gretchen's life, but the book is too short.😥 Missed out on the development of all of the characters relationships.

Ben and Gretchen

Secondary characters in Salvation series, Gretchen and Ben's story is a cute second chance Novella. It was Romantic and steamy, and fun to revisit these characters. The narrators Jason Clarke and Virginia Rose did a fantastic performance with these characters in the short time we had in this book.

Another great albeit TOO short book

I love all of CM’s stories, but I wish this had been longer and more detailed. The female narrators voice was whiny and too nasal ( Kat’s) at times, but the male was good.

Too Short To Care

I don’t know why, but I didn’t really care about Ben and Gretchen. I am not sure if it was because the book was a novella and we did not get a chance to invest in their story. It just felt rushed. Gretchen is a secondary character in the other books as well so it was really hard getting to like her. I wanted to. I wanted to like Ben, too. I didn’t care about Virginia’s performance, but I did like Jason Clarke.

It was an ok story. Not much happening-

Great narration however there wasn’t much to the story in my opinion. Next time. We shall see.

🌻3 1/2 ⭐️, could have perfect, if it was a bit longer!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 I knew, going in, that this novella would fall a little short. It would be rare for me to think that any story that is this short would feel complete. However, this was included in the Escape Package and I have loved the rest of the series; so I hit download. Just like the rest of the series, the characters were great, the narration was spot on and the intimate scenes were super hot. The only flaw is that it ends abruptly. Three or four more chapter would have moved my rating to a 5. It was still a good listen but, it could have been great!
