I listened to all three of these books in the space of a week and I loved every single one.
The action keeps on just enough and the vast variety of new creatures and situations was a joy to me.

It's a good story, for the most part, but it feels forced, the energy isn't quite the same. There are a few things that bugged me too; Russians using imperial measurements instead of metric. The Kola Super deep borehole is only 9 inches in diameter, definitely not big enough for a person, let alone a multi-person lift. GPS somehow working at the centre of the Earth, where there's no satellite signal, also something that didn't work in the previous books.

While the characters still always seem to apply a "she'll be right mate" attitude to walking into danger, this story was richer than the first two books.
It is worth a read.
