Erkki, der kleine Elch, lebt im Tausend-Seen-Land, zusammen mit vielen anderen Waldbewohnern. Er wäre ein ganz normaler Elch, wenn da nicht seine Größe wäre: Denn Erkki ist keinen Kiefernzapfen größer als sein bester Freund Lasse, der Hase. Da wird man von Oberelch und Oberbär schon mal leicht übersehen. Doch auch die Großen und Starken können nichts gegen die fiesen Wölfe ausrichten, die die Waldbewohner plötzlich bedrohen. Erkki und Lasse entschließen sich, etwas zu tun. Denn eines ist klar: Gemeinsam können auch die Kleinen ganz groß sein!
