Beautifully written and narrated
Anne Roiphe’s memoir about life, death and widowhood is beautifully written, with much heartache, insight and humour. Anne has a dry wit and it plays out, page by page. She has an artful way with words that made me stop many times to think about her clever construction of a sentence or use of a word or phrase.
