Great series

Easy to follow, informative and entertaining. No doubt the techies will complain it's overly simplistic but I found it perfect for my level of understanding. The interviews are great. More series like this please!

Great Material, yet a little Cheesy

I was impressed with the interviews and material being presented in this series of lectures on the Dark Web but it grossly misuses scary music and sound effects in the background to instill some cheap sense of fear or creepiness. Just give us the facts man, especially when they play sounds of children in the background, it made it scary but didn't lend any legitimacy to the material, which as far as I know was legitimate but I don't want cheap fear mongering, I want to learn.

Series was not what I was expecting

I expected this to be more focused on how the dark web affects us all. It's a look into much more than that, though, providing an interesting history of how and why the dark web came into being and evolved. But it's focused on much broader criminal activities - illicit drug dealing, child pornography, etc., than on how most of us might be affected by having our data exposed on the dark web. Utterly annoying is the format. Each segment is less than 30 minutes. Taking their cue from The History Channel, some of those minutes are used to review the last chapter, and some are used to preview the next. So, after a while, it becomes very repetitive. Frankly, from my perspective, the last episode was the best one, and if you listen to that one, which is essentially a panel discussion, you'll learn all you really need to know about how the dark web functions today and how its impact is felt on regular users of the web.

Baby talk about the dark web

I have a few gripes about these episodes about the dark web. They are all the same, so I’m just leaving a review for one chapter. First of all, the content was interesting. I learned things about the dark web, and learned uses for it I had never considered. Next, each episode is about thirty minutes long. Great for length, but they don’t automatically continue to the next one. So if you’re driving, you have to open your phone and select the next chapter every half hour. But here’s the deal killer. The author, who is also the narrator, can not pronounce the letter “r”. So It’s a weawy scawy stowy about the howibo dawk web. Seriously, it’s like he’s reading in baby talk. Fortunately there are a lot of interviews, because he was tewwibo.

Lots of background noise, speech impediment

The story was okay, I can see some good research has occurred here. But the narrator has a terrible speech impediment. Every “r” is said as a “w”, I can hardly listen to him speak, he sounds just like the priest on the Princess Bride.

A well thought out and structured series.

I am by no means a techno-phobe. That said, my knowledge of the dark web was accrued solely from what I'd seen in films and on the TV, until now. This series offers a fascinating insight into the the many worlds operated from the dark web. Each episode exploring a different aspect, some I had heard of but didn't understand, and others that were totally alien to me. All episodes were intriguing and engaging. I definitely recommend the series.

Interesting series.

Always wondered what the dark web was, well now I know. Informative without getting too technical.
