Disappointing

It read like it was written by 15 year olds, not well done. Mediocre content. I'm a big fan of Cory G but this was just poorly done. It sounded like this:

"Business is hard bro, you gotta try hard bro..."

Bro Code

I think this book is definitely for the bros who want to build their own business. While some of the stories and thoughts were interesting, and I appreciated the candid presentation, it just didn't really flow. It reminded me of when broadcasters on ESPN try to deviate from sports and talk about politics. Not to say these guys don't know their stuff, but the delivery just didn't appeal to me.

Maybe I'll come back to this from time to time? Perhaps it's just personal preference, but a little refinement would go a long way. I'm not sure I really "learned," anything. I appreciate that these men are self-made but this book is presented as an extreme crash course, when maybe it should be presented as extreme insight.

Read the title and you've listened to the book.

Honestly the best thing about it is the title.

I could quickly summarize by reminding you what you already know- Business is not easy, it should not be taken lightly, and affords many opportunities to screw up. But it can also be rewarding.

The book, which is not actually a book, consists of two guys talking about the aforementioned. All the while peppering in stories of their greatness, in a way reminiscent of a steroid induced, caffeine fueled, personal trainer. ... but that's the point, I guess.

Atop the thin content, the book is listed as nearly a three hour listen. I was displeased to realize that only at a 2X listening speed did these two gentlemen reach a natural speaking cadence.

Not recommended.

Audible/Audiobook??

Would you try another book from Cory Gregory and John Fosco and/or Cory Gregory and John Fosco ?

Not after having listened to this one.

What was most disappointing about Cory Gregory and John Fosco ’s story?

Is this an audiobook/audible? It was two guys basically having a recorded conversation...one on a decent microphone; one on a distorted sounding microphone. Perhaps this was recorded using teleconferencing software? Regardless, it wasn't organized or presented like a book and lacked organization and structure.

How could the performance have been better?

It could have been an actual book in audio format.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Entrepreneur or Wantrepreneur?

I would have done everything differently...starting with having the authors write an actual book.

Any additional comments?

I would not recommend this audible.

REAL

This book is the most real business book I've read. I would recommend to anyone thinking about starting a business or in a business already.

I am ready for the startup bro culture to be done.

I have worked in Silicon Valley and the tech industry for 30+ years and wittnessed the arc from exciting and useful innovation to quick flip capitalism. this book reinforces everything that is wrong with the Valley today.

can be summed up as "come at me bro"

performance: this sounds like a echoing lecture hall and you can clearly hear the difference in background noise as they spliced segments together. this is not an audiobook it sounds like they recorded a motivational speaking event [or parts of several different ones] many um's, repeats, and run on sentences that you wouldnt hear in an actual book. story: a poor attempt at reverse psychology by telling listeners to stop listening, a poor metaphor of an elevator as your growing business, and the not so tiny admission that their success was tied entirely to the niche marketing area of uniforms in the ufc when it was still a fledgling sport, which is not a repeatable business model [at least anytime soon, this trick wont work with eSports]. if you are in the physical fitness/personal training industry, you may find more in this "book" of value than i did, but for anyone in tech or manufacturing, ZERO value.

The worst excuse for a book I’ve ever read or listened to.

I stopped after 45 minutes. It’s like a bad podcast, and those 45 minutes contained 45 seconds of valuable information, total...and only valuable if you’ve not even started your entrepreneurial journey.

Save your money, please. These dudes don’t need it. You can thank me later. Worthless book.

Egos on fire

I'm a massive fan of Cory Gregory. However a lot of this book was to successful entrepreneurs flooding the empty swimming pool with the juice of their egos. I listened all the way through, their are some take home points. Namely to think before you do and once you do commit to it. Cory Gregory will produce an amazing book in his lifetime, this wasn't it.
