This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!

Hard to review

This is a really hard book to review. There was a lot of things I loved about it. I have read all of this authors books and loved them all but with this one, I had a hard time liking the heroine. I understand she had issues dating a firefighter and they were good reasons but I found her incredibly selfish. She repeatedly asked him for favors and help when she offered him nothing in return. More than once, I thought he should let her go and find someone worthy of him. She really didn't deserve him.

Siiiiigh

I really tried to sympathize with the main female character, but she definitely irritated me. it was very hard for me to get to the end of this book because of her point of view.

Loved it!

“Fear is no reason to forgo happiness.” Words to live by, but are easier said than done. Emma has been through a lot and has to overcome it. She thinks she doesn’t need another hero in her life, but Brett wants to be the one to change that. Brett and Emma are kindred spirits in my opinion. Samantha brings all the feels in this sweet and spicy conclusion to The Men on Fire series. Erin and Teddy did a fantastic job!

Resisting the firefighter...

1st grade teacher Emma Cox loves her job and is not looking forward to the summer...then a gunman brings hostages into the school and Emma finds herself fighting to keep a victim alive. Then she meets firefighter/medic Brett. The single father is attracted to the cute school teacher but can he get past her walls...after losing her firefighter father on 9/11, Emma doesn’t believe in dangerous jobs. Even though she’s falling for Brett, she can’t bring herself to accepting his career. Will love fail in this case? Some ex drama, a couple of cute kids, and this is a definite must read!

Good

I read the negative reviews but gave this book the benefit of the doubt hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed, but I wish I’d listen and save my credit. I loved the narration (Teddy and Erin did a phenomenal job). I loved the hero as well, but hated the heroine. She was selfish, promiscuous, and a user. I kept holding out hope that she’d somehow redeem herself but she was true to herself to the very end. I wished Brett would have left her the first time she went on a “date” with someone else while stringing him along. I finished the book but could not get pass my dislike for the heroine.

Worth the listen!

Another good read in this series. Sexy firefighter Brett tries to help Emma after a terrifying incident. Their connection is electric and their journey is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon is on fire!!!

Sigh....almost but not quite

As other reviews have said, the female heroine was tough to like. I totally sympathize with her hang ups and I enjoy that element of SM’s stories. However, her treatment of Brett....just no. If it didn’t happen SO many freaking times maybe I could’ve liked her. I had similar feelings about Ivy in the first book, but the struggle she was going through made sense of her actions. That pain at that time......WAY more understandable. Plus I felt the ending of book 1 was more powerful. It was worth the annoyance to get there. It all fit. This book? Yes there’s a HEA but it felt lack luster compared to how mad I got at Emma so many times. Like...she really didn’t deserve him and he sure as heck deserved better treatment. That all being said, this book is way steamier than book 2. I enjoyed their chemistry a lot and when they were doing well I really like them as a couple. This book is still worth a credit, just be prepared to roll your eyes and yell at the heroine.
