Saving the best for last!

This is the final Cyber Dragons book, and that will always make me a little sad.
And just to point out the obvious, you definitely should have read the other books before this one.
Anyway, it's about a year after the events of book two (no spoilers), and Kei is having a hard time reconciling what she thinks is a "good outcome", vs the fairly good outcome that she got. The one her friends and family (because that's what they've become over this journey, and that's not more evident than it is in the book) are wise enough to savour. They understand that in this often brutal cyberpunk world, you have to embrace any measure of happiness that you can get.
However, Keiko has been broken by Snake, and she just can't find it in herself to let go, and accept change, and the contentedness that can bring. So, Kei must choose whether to attempt a revenge that may cost her and her family everything they've fought and bled for, or find a new path forward.
Anyway, that's where our plucky heroine starts off, and that's all I'm going to spoil. The rest of the crew come out in the story, but most have moved on, which is something all my favourite books do. The characters feel as if they've got their own lives. They aren't static and waiting for a new book. They live on, even after the story comes to an end. I love that. They all feel so much more real to me, as a result.
Boy I wish I could talk about the twists! I can guarantee you won't see where this story takes you!
Everything else you've come to know and love is here, fast paced action, snark and some genuinely funny parts bring this together as the best in the series.
Just as with the other books, the narration was perfect! I really can't think of anyone who could have done a better job on these books, and I'll definitely try her other works now.
