Unfortunately felt some potential and points of interest with the plot but despite potential for character development both remain quite shallow with some cringe moments in there couldn’t finish it

The twist in the end was unexpected! heck why didn't he warned her? anyway this book is fantastic. I feel liked it went to a roller coaster listening to this book. Laura Horrowitz done an excellent job in her portrayal to all the characters especially the FMC

I found this book to be a mixed up version of other better books related to fairies, dragons and trial like games that characters compete in. However the main character is a sad, friendless girl who has very low confidence in herself. Her magic powers are average and unimpressive. Her parents and community seem to completely hate her. The description and setting of the town and castle is poorly explained so that you can’t really imagine exactly what the world they are in looks like in your mind, The dialogue includes insults such ‘He’s a double loser!!’ Which is so cringe. I couldn’t get past chapter 12.
