What a WASTE of Time!

My heavens, where do I begin??? I should've known after the first 5 mins that a book where the author writes "immatureness" instead of "immaturity" would be an epic FAIL. Another example was "I'll soap myself" instead of "I'll wash my hands"...... Narrator's voice over time is irksome. Learned NOTHING. This book does not reveal or inform the reader about anything past a high schooler's knowledge. Very basic and obvious info. It does NOT provide ANY information for who the book title implies it's for: the child of the abused. The first 75% of the book is background info and the last chapters with supposed "solutions" are written for TEACHERS who notice abused children and from a textbook perspective, like how to train pp entering the field of social services. TOTALLY DECEIVING DESCRIPTION. AGAIN, IF YOU ARE A TEEN OR ADULT WHO GREW UP WITH EMOTIONALLY NEGLECTFUL PARENTS, this book is NOT for you.

I went into this book with a dab of expectation that I could see all the more unmistakably my distressing and to some degree discouraging adolescence. I was so inundated in the book and relating to the narratives and terms that I didn't understand how much expectation I can have as a grown-up. I prescribe this to any individual who might want to develop themselves, their present connections, and their future connections, with their folks, however with collaborators, companions, youngsters and companions.
