good overview on EI usefulness in organizations

It gives a good overview on how EI can help leaders and big organizations to create a good climate and reach expected goals.
However, what you will not learn is how to really unleash your personal EI. You will understand why EI is necessary in order to achieve your team and your personals goals, but you won't learn how to increase your own EI.
Still a very good book as an introduction to EI.

it was pretty good

An outstanding book with many gems of information regarding effective (and ineffective) leadership. There are definitely some things I know I'll be more aware of as well as those I'll try to ensure can flourish in my own company. The style is very readable and presents excellent examples that can apply to virtually any situation (work, hobbies, home). This book goes beyond the typical textbook format and is interesting, informative and applicable.

Required Reading

It does cite some academic research and provides quite a bit of information about how brain-function works when it comes to these concepts, but does so in a way that the casual reader won't notice, but also that an academic reader that expects a great deal of citation will find inadequate.

Great material.

Excellent information about what great leadership looks like, but needs some clear action steps. I bought and read this book for a college leadership class and I did find a lot of useful wisdom out of it.

This book inspires me to continue!!

This book provides valuable information. By this book, you can learn about the benefits of emotional intelligence and what are leadership skills. Though the book is a perfect guide to emotional intelligence and how it can help, unless the habits are actively practiced, it will be of no use. The author also includes how to be motivated and positive and about motivation theory. Thanks to the author for this excellent guideline
