Publisher's Summary

You think you're a smart person, but do you not feel fully satisfied with your life, your work, and your relationships?

Do negative emotions take over, leaving you without energy and unable to focus on your social relationships and career?

Alexander W. Allen, starting from his knowledge in the field of neuroscience and psychology, leads us towards the discovery of emotions, teaches us how to recognize and control them, in order to improve every aspect of our lives.

This is a collection of two books:

How to Stop Worrying and Find Unlimited Happiness helps you understand what negative emotions are, what the mechanisms that regulate them are, and how to control and overcome them.

Emotional Quotient 2.0 leads you into the world of emotional intelligence, makes you understand how emotions work and help you with a series of strategies and exercises to improve your emotional quotient.

You'll learn:

  • How to cleanse your mind of negative thoughts and habits
  • How the mind works and what are the mechanisms that regulate emotions
  • What are emotions and why are they important
  • Why having a high IQ is not enough to be successful.
  • How to control your emotions to improve social relationships
  • How to stop listening to other people's opinions
  • What emotional intelligence is and how to develop it
  • How to increase your EQ through practical exercises

And much more....

With adequate work on overcoming negative emotions and with so much practice related to the development of social skills and the development of the emotional quotient, the road to success is much flatter.

In fact, the real formula for success is: IQ + EQ = Success

The red pill or the blue pill? Continue on your way in perpetual dissatisfaction or try to change your life?

Good book.

More often than not, leaders neglect the emotional intelligence aspect of leadership. This book is eye opening and delves into critical aspects of leading; being aware of how the "aura" of upper echelon can affect an organization's successes or demise.

Very inspiring

This book is very inspiring and informative. It presents information that is extremely relevant to today's workplace. Great book about how to be more emotionally intelligent and how true success is more predicated on being emotionally intelligent than just being intelligent.

Required listening for CEOs &high school student

The principles and topics covered in this audiobook should be on a required listening list in high school. However since I know they were not this needs to be an audiobook that you listen especially if you are currently, or strive to be a CEO or owner of a business. Emotional intelligence is often misunderstood but much-needed skill no matter your formal education or background. I highly recommend this audiobook and the principles of EQ anyone striving to better themselves.

I loved this book

The EI brings a new, fresh perspective to the field...and does it swiftly! The stories are rich and effective and skillfully intertwined among theoretical and practical research on EI. This is a well written concise book on emotional intelligence that should benefit everyone. It teaches techniques that people can employ to enhance their emotional intelligence; on our rational and emotional minds and why it is very important to our careers, our relationships and our destiny.

Outstanding book

This is a marvelous book. It is very well researched but it also suggests ways that you can immediately improve your EQ and apply it in real-world situations. It is clear that emotional intelligence is one of the most important skills needed for success in the work-life and in our personal life. People respond to stimuli emotionally before they respond intellectually. That is why this book is so important. I found the chapter on feedback especially helpful. You will learn many important skills from this book.

Nice book....

If you have never read anything about Emotional Intelligence, then Judy gives you a quick primer. Then she goes in depth with explaining how Emotional Intelligence shows up internally - and what to do about it. She has researched the topic well and gives many great examples of how emotional intelligence can show up positively and negatively. I suggest

A must Listen for Managers and Leaders

This audiobook should be a once a year reading requirement for managers and leaders. It is concerning that people with Director level and above title often have lower EQ. This audiobook has a lot of exercises that require serious action to apply. Highly recommended.

Good content, irritating beginning

Great stuff but, as others have said, this is not a work of fiction. The narrator should not try to do voices as if it was one. I had to skip through the first part because it was too irritating. Once I got past the bad character performances the content was great and the narrator was also good.

Great information presented well

I’ve seen this audiobook many times in various audiobooks stores, yet I had no interest in it. Then one day I was lead to it and bought it. I found the information quite useful at this point (2014) in my life. I’m going through a period of looking at how I’ve been conducting myself and the direction my life has been going. I found the techniques here and on the website after taking the EQ test very useful in my growth.

Self-assessment is subjective

After purchasing the audiobook, you are given a code to take the emotional intelligence appraisal test online. You rate yourself on a list of statements, like whether you can be counted on, handle stress well, get along with others, and handle conflict effectively. Then based on your responses, you are directed to certain strategies in the audiobook,
