The Fill-in that was not needed, with a WOW twist
My favorite part of this book was that it kept pivoting among the races to give life from their perspective, very World Of Warcraft (WOW) done very well. The first in the series was a great epic, and bound the whole story up nicely; could have been it's own stand alone. This book is less the second in the series and more a book in that universe telling part of a tale alluded to elsewhere. My rating would have been higher if my expectations were more aligned to what I got.

It took sooo long, but worth the wait!
If you did not begin this story when the 1st book alone was published you will not truly understand., I did though and wondered if there was going to be more and I am thrilled and pleased with the "more" I feared would never come. Its a wonderful story that will take you through a variety of emotions. Michael Page was the perfect choice to narrate this series and I highly recommend this series.

Amazing Writing, Awful Editing & Absolutely Disappointing
If you’re thinking of buying this: Don’t waste your money until they re-release a finished version. This book was a HUGE let down due to one single thing: It felt like reading half a book... ...Because that’s exactly what you get. German Original: 928 Pages English Translation: 320 Pages German Audiobook: 28hrs 14mins English Audiobook: 12hrs 32mins This is clearly an incomplete translation (or so heavily abridged that it may as well be incomplete). OVER HALF of the content is missing, it has been stripped from this edition leaving it feeling disjointed and unfinished. I have no idea why anyone would release the book in such a state because it does not do justice to Bernhard Hennan’s fantastic writing or to Edwin Miles masterful translation. It’s actually disgusting! ☹️ What’s worse is there’s no mention of this on the sales page. It’s being passed off as if it were the full book and sold to unwitting readers who have been duped into paying full price as if it were the complete story found in the original German novel. There is no mention anywhere of it being an abridged translation, but one look at the reviews will show you many frustrated readers as the ending is not even included in this copy! The book just ends mid plot - So infuriating! I genuinely feel like I’ve been scammed. Which is unfortunate because I absolutely LOVE the series. The quality of the writing and Bernhard Hennen’s world building are spectacular. This is easily in my Top 10 already and I WANT to buy the rest of them, but not if they are going to be chopped & torn to pieces like this edition. The only reason I have not refunded is because I want to support the author & the publisher in the hopes they translate the rest of the series. (And do it properly) As a final note to the editor or whoever made the awful decision to cut so much content from this book: Nobody wants an abridged copy! NOBODY! Abridged copies are always garbage. Give us a complete translation with all the juicy world building and fantastic details Bernhard Hennen has created or don’t bother. The first book was translated properly in full and was an absolute joy to read. Do this series the justice it deserves and finish the rest with equal effort. And please, re-release this with the rest of the missing content. Sincerely, a very unhappy customer.

Don’t buy it! Half of the book is missing
Just like the first book, Elven winter is fairly disjointed and jumps about a lot, but worst of for this audible version over half of the novel is missing! If only I had read the reviews before I started listening to the book. The story just ends right in the middle and you are just left hanging. Do not start this book unless there is a complete version released or you will be left disappointed l.

Not a good sequel
This is well read, but it feels as though it has been edited to remove gaps between sentences. It's as though the book is read in one breath. I wasn't pulled in to this book, the story feels pointless, there are a load of weak scenes which don't convey a great deal.
