Else Lasker-Schüler (1869 - 1945) ist vor allem als Lyrikerin bekannt. Aber neben ihren Gedichten sind es die Theaterstücke, die sie berühmt gemacht haben, allen voran das Drama Die Wupper. Sie schrieb zunächst schwärmerisch und visionär, wurde aber zunehmend schwermütig. Nicht nur in ihren Dichtungen, auch in ihrem Leben. Aus einer unziemlich verrückten Bohemienne wurde eine depressive, einsame Frau, die aber eine Hoffnung nie aufgab: gerettet zu werden durch Liebe.
Engagiert, originell und höchst persönlich führt C. Bernd Sucher zusammen mit der Schauspielerin Kathrin Angerer den Hörer durch Leben und Werk von Else Lasker-Schüler. Weitere Sprecher sind Jennifer Sabel und Andreas Thiele.
Der Autor:
Prof. Dr. C. Bernd Sucher, in Bitterfeld geboren, studierte in Hamburg und München Germanistik, Theaterwissenschaft und Romanistik. Zwischen 1980 und 2005 war er Theaterkritiker bei der Süddeutschen Zeitung, seit 2005 schreibt er für Die Zeit. Seit 1998 leitet er den Studiengang Theater-, Film- und Fernsehkritik der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen an der Bayerischen Theaterakademie August Everding.
