Publisher's Summary

Darkness falls.... Despair abounds.... Evil reigns….

Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have just saved the rebel state from destruction by the mighty forces of King Galbatorix, cruel ruler of the Empire. Now Eragon must travel to Ellesméra, land of the elves, for further training in magic and swordsmanship, the vital skills of the Dragon Rider. It is the journey of a lifetime, filled with awe-inspiring new places and people, each day a fresh adventure. But chaos and betrayal plague him at every turn, and Eragon isn't sure whom he can trust.

Meanwhile, his cousin Roran must fight a new battle back home in Carvahall - one that puts Eragon in even graver danger.

Will the king's dark hand strangle all resistance? Eragon may not escape with even his life....

Great story; terrible narration.

the books are good. please don't let this dissuade you from the books:
This narrator is a joke. his dragon is, as someone said, a cookie monster interpretation. he mispronounced so many words it jolts the listener out of the mood. like 'trebuchet' does not have a hard T at the end!
alas that there is no other narrator for these books on Audible.

Cookie dragon

The dragon voices are incredibly annoying, so much so that I had to stop listening to books that I adore. Do not buy this audio book! It will ruin the story, but the book or find one read by someone else

Saphirra's voice was gravely Yoda

got a handful of minutes in before I had to stop, usually I love this series and I'd deal with bad narration for the story, but Saphirra sounds like a gravely version of Yoda and by her second line I was completely done. I understand that some people prefer 'a proper dragon voice' but I'd always imagined her with a female voice, so it was a bit of a shock when I heard her speak 😂 otherwise, great story

Terrible Narrator

The book is amazing, great story and plot. However the narrator dissuades you from reading. The dragon sounds awful and so many words are mispronounced. Book one narrator was great but he hadn’t narrated a full version of book 2. Overall great book but awful narrator

So far the story is amazing. looking forward to picking up book 3. I just can't get my head around the voices for the dragons and demons. I'm not feeling it.

Vocals, I couldn’t get past.

I was really looking forward to listening to this but I couldn’t get past the fact that Sophiras voice put me off.

great listen again Gerard, though it's noticeable that some of the voices are awfully similar to one another.

Fantastic story!!! Terrible voices for the dragons, and Eragon.

I really love the story of Eragon, but the voices for the dragons and Eragon himself are just so bad I wish that there voices could be redone as it would make this so much better.

Dragons boats battles magic

My kids loved this. Great clear reading. Engaging narrative with good morals. Good strong female characters.
