Wenig später wird in dem Seniorenstift eingebrochen, und der Hausarzt der Verstorbenen ist spurlos verschwunden. Spätestens als tatsächlich ein Mord geschieht, liegt auf der Hand: In der noblen Seniorenresidenz ist etwas faul. Die Kripo aus Itzehoe übernimmt, doch die drei Kophusener Polizisten lassen sich den Fall nicht so einfach wegnehmen und ermitteln auf eigene Faust weiter.
