Ein Stücklein vom alten Dessauer. Humoreske von Karl May ist die früheste bekannte Dessauer-Erzählung Karl Mays. Die Humoreske wurde erstmals 1875 in der Zeitschrift Deutsches Familienblatt abgedruckt. 1877 folgte eine Veröffentlichung im Neuen Unterhaltungs-Blatt. Inhalt: Der alte Dessauer verdankt dem einarmigen Schmidt aus Wahlsdorf sein Leben. Dessen Sohn Wilhelm liebt die Tochter des Wiesenbauern, Annemarie, und diese ihn. Allerdings will ihr Vater sie dem Sohn des Amtmanns Hiller zur Frau geben. Hiller, der den Konkurrenten ausschalten will, informiert Leopold von Anhalt-Dessau, dass dieser am nächsten Tag einen großen Fang machen könnte. Der Dessauer durchschaut aber den Plan.
