Just when you think you have it figured out and the enemy within is about to be faced, another one occurs. And here we go again more excitement. More angst, more nail biting nights.
As I listened I felt so many emotions especially anger at the head adversary and frustrated rage at Noah. Kyla has done such a great job in writing these characters that makes you want to fist pump in one chapter and cringe in another.
The only tiny drawback is the constant justification that pours out of evil mouths. It went on to the point of frustration for me...and it seemed to eek out the obvious. And i found, it pushed the novel to a slower pace and I went into annoyed mode.
But not for long. Then we ploughed through chaos and excitement and suspense. The twist and duck and weave was brilliant. I was wondering how this was going to continue on in the series, then I remembered a minor tidbit that had me wanting the next book.
And I fell big time for Bishop.
Quinn and Hannah are girl power personified and if one put all of the main characters into molly's cake recipe ot would be a cake that lasts forever in fall Creek

This series has been an entertaining and enjoyable adventure to listen to. The characters are well loved and some hated. Never boring I have truely enjoyed where the series has gone and where it will go in the next two books.

My favourite characters are definitely Ghost, Quinn and Liam.

Characters are well defined and written in a way that leaves the reader (Listener) up to their own decision whether they like them or not.

I’m so happy there’s another book to follow Edge of Defiance. Perfect summer read.

Favourite characters to date: Quinn and Molly, and their brusque, loving relationship. Quinn has some ways to develop yet, hence my looking forward to Book 6. Also love Bishop and Ghost. Bishop because of his steady, dependable qualities; who doesn’t love a pastor in a Hawaiian shirt with a gun? I read in a spoiler somewhere that Kyla couldn’t bear to kill off Ghost, so that allayed my fears to be able to enjoy Ghost, the fluffy killer.

Looking forward to Book 6, Thanks Kyla for your authors notes too. Happy reader!

I have so much stress when he is threatened. Sometimes tge book was too sad and awful, but there were triumphs. it does feel like there will be no happy ending....
