Publisher's Summary

In Economic Facts and Fallacies, Thomas Sowell exposes some of the most popular fallacies about economic issues in a lively manner that does not require any prior knowledge of economics.

These fallacies include many beliefs widely disseminated in the media and by politicians, such as fallacies about urban problems, income differences, male-female economic differences, as well as economic fallacies about academia, about race, and about third-world countries. Sowell shows that fallacies are not simply crazy ideas but in fact have a certain plausibility that gives them their staying power - and makes careful examination of their flaws both necessary and important.

Captivatingly Presented

I have always liked Thomas Sowell, I read "Wealth, Poverty and politics" before reading "Economic Facts and Fallacies" I enjoyed every chapter if the book save for the chapter on housing. it was a difficult chapter to read so I decided to get the audible version and perhaps listen. My experience so far is not bad at all. I recommend this book for any one trying to disprove any unproven but popular economic claims with social and political implications.

My first Audible book.. Very enjoyable.

Overall a really enjoyable experience, I particularly enjoyed the geography related section/chapter. Recommend this to anyone with an interest in both economics and politics. Mr Sowell is well worth a listen.

One of the most revealing books I’ve ever read

Hard to argue with Sowel. This book will challenge a lot of preconceptions about the world we all have.
