About this listen

They may not be made for each other, but animal instincts are impossible to ignore.

Madisyn Drake is a rare breed of cat shifter…a loner, unpredictably wild, and emotionally distant. A recent betrayal has left her ready to sharpen her claws on the next man she sees…until a prowling wolf with steel-gray eyes and a brooding dark edge challenges her distrust. No matter how fully he satisfies her touch-hunger, Madisyn’s not ready to open up again, even if it is oh so gratifying.

Bracken Slater has earned his reputation as an indomitable predator. Once broken by grief and guilt, he is feeling alive again, thanks to the heady scent of this independent feline. Madisyn isn’t interested in joining an unfamiliar pack, so convincing her that they’re meant for each other is going to take more than branding her beautiful neck. But when threats from both their pasts take shape, their unexpected destiny may be the only thing that can save them.

I loved reading both the Phoenix and Mercury pack series, so decided to start with the most recent release Echoes of Fire for my first audible in the series. I really enjoyed listening to the story, so will be adding the rest in the series to my list of books to listen to as well.

Great series

If you don't like explicit love scenes don't don't I advice u to be wary because this book is full of hard core sex scenes and it's hot as hell. I would have preferred to have more actions but it's Suzanne's trade mark to pepper her stories with excorching love scenes. Jill Redfield is of course brilliant in her performances.

***Too hot to handle***

Great Narration. Have bought this book Read through KU whilst also flicking and listening to the audible version too. What a great idea to Read and Listen. Very handy using my headphones when doing stuff around the house. I don’t lose the flow of the story. I have to say the narrator for this book was one of the best with an enjoyable narration. Lots of inflections and I could tell most of the characters apart. BOOK REVIEW - SPOILERS Rinse, add new characters, repeat. Having read all these books straight through, I can honestly say I am now officially done with this author. Some obviously love reading the same crap, different names formula style of books. No surprises, no real feelings, certainly no real connection to the characters. I know there are so many authors out there writing much better shifter stories than these and I will be going back to them. Needing a change of pace, I looked at this new author who was recommended. After reading one book in the Mercury series, probably the best of the lot, I grabbed both Phoenix and Mercury Pack books through Kindle Unlimited. I even bought a few of the audible books to Listen and Read. These series of books started off with the True Mate is everything ethos. I think this is the third or fourth book where this is not happening or true. I dislike that once again True Mates are easily replaceable. This is really pushed in this book as Mila’s True Mate Joel, imprints on her cousin Adele. Adele’s True Mate Dean loses his sanity due to not having his True Mate and Dominic will never have a True Mate as he imprints on Mila. I feel the author used her normal formulaic template. We have the ex-love interest who turns out to be psychotic, emotional blocking of the bond due to (blah, blah, blah) All this usual crap made this book so unemotional as to be boring. Too many people lose out in this book due to imprinting rather than waiting for their True Mate. I felt sorry for Mila but she really could have said something to Joel and Adele. Rather than speak up she allows herself and her cat to suffer. Great to find out why Dominic is the way he is. Felt sorry for his emotionally lacking childhood and the fact he had a selfish mother. Doesn’t mean I like his manwhore ways. Dominic for some reason fixated on Mila, probably due to the fact she turned him down. If she had had sex with him, he probably wouldn’t have even remembered her. Skimmed the same old sex scenes which are overly long.

Great Narration. Have bought this book
