Publisher's Summary

The first book of Andrea Kane's Kingsley in Love series - which concludes with Wishes in the Wind: Is Trenton Kingsley's long-awaited revenge about to be undone by love? Six years in exile have given Trenton Kingsley time to perfect his plot for vengeance. But when capricious fate turns his dreams to dust, the tormented duke of Broddington devises an even better scheme. An eye for an eye, a sister for a father. And seduction be damned. By royal decree, he will take ownership of his rival's most cherished possession: the fair, innocent Ariana.

Ariana Caldwell has heard the tragic rumors since she was a child. Kingsley tore her family apart and now she's being forced to become his wife. Furious at being tied to the man she detests above all others, Ariana isn't prepared for the tender feelings her new husband arouses. Determined to uncover the truth of the family feud - no matter how shocking - she embarks on a search that could cost her everything, including the man who is slowly winning her heart.

Trenton

Vanessa’s death was blamed on Trenton, by Ariana’s brother, Baxter.
Ariana was only a child when it happened and she has always loved Trenton.
Ariana and Trenton wed and stay at Spraystone on the Isle of Wight, to get away from Baxter and his vitriol.
This is only a stop-gap measure as Trenton has his businesses and properties to manage.
Their other residence is Broderington Estate on the mainland.

The past needs to be reconciled so the future can begin.
Cliché storyline.

Good story but hated the ending

This audio book had the premises of a good story and for the most part it was. However, I didn't agree with the saccharine ending and as such feel compelled to assign a mediocre rating.

The narrator for the most part was good but I didn't like how she delivered the male voices. my gripe isn't that they sounded effeminate but rather that they sounded smug - even when uncalled for. It was like listening to 'Sherlock Holmes' making deductions. ughhh.. annoying. I've felt this way about this particular narrator for other Regency stories she's narrated and wish the editor would reign this fact in a bit.

if you like a good story with a goody-two shoe ending this is for you.
