About this listen

The complete series in a single offering!

Develop my team, dive the dungeons, and don’t ever stop.

I’ve always wanted to conquer the Big 5 dungeons ever since one of them took the life of my father nearly fifteen years ago. Nobody ever said the Path of Progression was easy, but my burning desire to dive can’t be quenched. I just never thought I’d be prohibited from getting a diving license just because I tried to help a bratty blonde girl get hers.

Soon, we’re joined by a lovely brunette bookworm, and we start diving the dungeon on our own terms. As it turns out, I have a few abilities that greatly increase our chances of actually finishing the Path, leading to a life of fame and luxury. Others soon notice the power I’m building though, and they’ll do anything to stop us.

I will conquer the Path of Progression with the help of my stunning companions.

That is unless the dungeon, or my secret enemy, kills me first.

This story contains action/adventure sequences, stat sheets for the main characters, and some slice-of-life elements.

The characters are just dumb npc’s. MC acts like a hormonal 13yr old with missing brain cells. The power scaling is nonexistent. How the powers work and grow is up to your imagination. But I’ll give 18+ are decent.

Frustrating

I'm a big fan of this genre (litRPG), but unfortunately this is the worst execution I've come across. the stats feel completely irrelevant, as do the levels. character after the first dozen chapters never seem to be limited by anything except their brains, but this is a significant handicap for all characters in this series. I got over 45 hours into it, trying to stick it out, but then a major plot inconsistency hit where an item which was effectively soul bound (as was mentioned several times how it wouldn't work with anyone but the owner) the villain steals it, and the issue with it being soul bound has been completely forgotten. the amount of fights where the party were higher level and outnumbered their opponents and lost just lost me. And the overuse of extremes "I've never been in so much pain", "I felt more love than I ever had before" are to tiresome. voice actors were fine, but they were doing the heavy lifting with this one.

Poor execution of the genre

I applaud the narrators, they did the best they could with what they had. The writing was a slog to get through though.

Bad

While this story does not break any new ground, it gets my positive review due to the snappy writing that drags us through the adventure at a ripping pace. The fight scenes are above average. The relationships between characters - including the villians - feel natural and sensible. And the narration is damn near perfect.
