My favourite so far

This is an underrated book in the Poirot series! Great characters and not too many leaps in logic so that the reader has a chance to figure out the solution in this one.

A great narrator? 'Hugh' bet!

A cracking mystery made all the more enjoyable by the talents of Hugh Fraser as narrator. Definitely one I will come back to.

Delight all around

A most delightful performance by both Agatha Christie and by narrator Hugh Fraser.
Mrs. Christie created the characters of course and the book was nice enough to read, but Hugh Fraser, always excellent when performing Christie's work, here outdoes himself in making the characters come alive.

Such a good audio book that stands out in all aspects, many chuckles along the way in this murder mystery, go and listen for yourself 😄

An entertaining mystery from the 1930's

This is an excellent Agatha Christie novel, with Hercule Poirot as the investigator of a possible murder. The story flows so well that it illustrates why the author was so successful. It is a story set in the late 1920's or early 1930’s ( I think) with all of the sensibilities of that era. There were many red herrings, so I did not predict the solution, but the explanation made sense and was therefore completely satisfying. The narration, by High Fraser, was good and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the novel.

A cracking detective novel

Perfect for a long journey on a winter's day, Dumb Witness makes the time fly. Bob, the 'dumb witness' of the title, made a far better detective than I did and I needed Hercule's elegant expose at the end to let me into the secret of 'who dunnit'! Most enjoyable.

Dumb Witness

As I have already said High Fraser reads these Agatha Christie books so well. He is very funny as upper middle class ladies. He makes Poirot sound charming so that one can escape any TV images. Great fun.

Engaging story

Hugh Fraser is amazing at reading these stories and he gets Poirot perfectly. Kept me guessing until very near the end. Very enjoyable bedtime listen.

Thoroughly enjoyed!

I really enjoyed this audio book. As ever, Hugh Fraser provides an outstanding performance and acts out all the parts with incredible skill and versatility. Rather spooky at times and I loved Bob.
( no spoilers!)

Dame Agatha takes us on a fantastic journey with such ease, I wanted to listen to it in one go but would have meant a few "duvet days"!

Outstanding thriller, exceptionally delivered.

Enjoy....

Dumb Witness

A fragile lady has her family down for Easter, while they were there she fell down the stairs or did she? Poor Bob the dog gets the blame.
The shock comes after a couple of weeks when she dies and the will is read and then Poriot received a letter two months after she'd died begging for his help

Classic Christie, great narration

Nothing beats an Agatha Christie when you need a clever plot where you can’t guess the murderer but can see it when the mystery is solved! Hugh Fraser does a brilliant job with old ladies voices. Thoroughly enjoyable

Such a clever novel, wonderfully read

I enjoyed the novel immensly, all the way. Very intelligently and captivatingly written. Many interesting characters, including the dog. I liked the ending, especially the very last segment. Hugh Fraser read all the parts marvellously. Just sit back - and be entertained.
