About this listen

Gina was forced into marriage with Camden, the Duke of Girton, at an age when she'd have been better off in a schoolroom than a ballroom. Directly after the ceremony, her spouse promptly fled to the continent, leaving the marriage unconsummated and Gina quite indignant.

Now she is one of the most well-known ladies in London and living on the edge of scandal....

This was awful, too many characters, implausible, silly, boring. Just a waste of my time.

No plot

The characters had no depth and were so unlikeable. The story lacked focus and I just couldn’t finish it. I have read other books by this author but this one just completely missed the mark.
The narrator did a fantastic job though.

Great narration couldn’t save this one

I am glad I didn't waste a credit on this one. it's actually not badly written but the story has no focus, It's all over the place, there are too many half baked storylines, too many similar characters.. it gets confusing, and I am not sure why some characters have given so much time...
Justin Eyre narrates well, as always, giving all the characters their own inflections. Although I felt she read a bit fast so I dialed it down just a bit to 90.

First and last Eloisa James tale. sorry.

Supremely unlikeable characters and long, rambling story - very different from others in the genre. Even great narration couldn’t save it. I was rage listening to it by the end.

Awful story that drags…
