Could you retain your faith even if it meant losing your life? Your family's lives? To many Christians in the Middle East today, a "momentary, light affliction" means enduring only torture instead of martyrdom. The depth of oppression Jesus' followers suffer is unimaginable to most Western Christians. Yet it is an everyday reality for those who choose faith over survival in Syria, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, and other countries hostile to the Gospel of Christ.

But then Strobel travels the country to quiz scholars to see whether they can offer solid answers to atheist objections. Along the way, he encounters astounding accounts of healings and other phenomena that simply cannot be explained away by naturalistic causes. The audiobook features the results of exclusive new scientific polling that shows miracle accounts are much more common than people think.

How is jihad different from the Crusades? Can we know the life of Jesus as well as the life of Muhammad? What reason is there to believe in one faith over the other, and what difference can the Gospel really make?

Publisher's Summary
What would you do if Jesus appeared to you in a dream? What if He came to you in a vision and told you to follow Him? What if these visions continued for over 30 days? Would you believe? Would you put your trust in Him? Would you devote your life to Him? Would you if you were Muslim? Pastor Tom Doyle has spent 11 years as a full-time missionary in the Middle East and Central Asia, spreading the Word of Jesus Christ. Throughout his journey, he has encountered a staggering number of Muslims who were first introduced to Jesus through a vision or dream so powerful they eventually turned from their lifelong religion of Islam and embraced Christ as their Savior. Despite living in a culture where converting to Christianity can result in execution, these former Muslims have found the hope, peace, and inspiration that comes from knowing Christ. Their stories will amaze you. Jesus is reaching out to Muslims and they are responding. Did you know that Iran has the fastest growing church in the world? Dreams and Visions is a remarkable collection of stories directly from the world of Islam. Doyle not only relates these stories but also addresses the questions: Why would God use dreams to reach the Muslim world? Can dreams be trusted? What happens after these dreams or visions occur? Travel to the heart of the Middle East to meet new believers who have truly been touched by Jesus in the most miraculous way, through their nightly dreams.

Lovely
Obviously, you have to have a certain mindset to want to read this book, but if you do, it's very inspiring. The author/narrator took a bit of getting used to at first, but I found later I was unaware of the issues that bothered me at first. One could hear his swallows now and then and pause breaks came at not the best times, all of which is understandable when a 'regular' person reads an audiobook! It just makes me really appreciate the enormous skills of the 'real' narrators or actors. However, there were moments that I was glad it was the author who was speaking, as it put authenticity into his words, knowing they were, in fact, what the person speaking really believed. I definitely enjoyed this book!

Worth listening to!
This book is a good foundation for the author's other book, "Killing Christians". Though in "Killing Christians" the stories are more developed, therefore more interesting and more easily followed, this book goes more in depth about the phenomenon of the dreams and visions. In the appendices the author gives the scriptural precedents for God revealing Himself through dreams and visions, as well as characteristics of true visions of Jesus, as opposed to false ones.
All in all I consider this book well worth my time and money.

Stories not as detailed as in his other books
I have listened to three books by this author. The stories in this book are not very detailed compared to the ones in the other two books. If I could only buy one of his books, Killing Christians would be my choice. In the book he is more detailed and it is read by someone else, which I prefer.

Enjoyed it.
The book is a series of short stories about Muslims converting to Cristianity through dreams, covering most middle eastern countries. Well written, and woven together with interjections of commentary between sections, and some really good thoughts and statistics at the end. Because of the structure, it doesn't have the same flow longer stories would have, but this remains none the less a useful, interesting and inspiring book.

Fascinating, instructive and inspiring.
This is read very well by the author (I'm guessing that Greg Webster helped him write it in an exciting style!) It comes over almost like a novel, but I have no trouble believing the amazing stories of ordinary Muslims receiving visits from Jesus Christ Himself, and then seeking out or coming into contact with a follower of Jesus who is able to explain them. He makes it clear that it is a dangerous decision to follow Christ in the Middle East and also challenges us in the West to change our thinking about those who have been brought up to believe in Islam.
