Publisher's Summary

Suspenseful, frightening, and sometimes howlingly funny, a story of invasion and battle, survival and heroism. It is a story of how men remember ... and how they love.

In Derry, Maine, four young boys once stood together and did a brave thing. Something that changed them in ways they hardly understand.

A quarter of a century later, the boys are men who have gone their separate ways. Though they still get together once a year, to go hunting in the north woods of Maine. But this time is different. This time a man comes stumbling into their camp, lost, disoriented and muttering about lights in the sky.

Before long, these old friends will be plunged into the most remarkable events of their lives as they struggle with a terrible creature from another world. Their only chance of survival is locked in their shared past - and in the Dreamcatcher.

Meh

It wasn’t the worst book. The voice reading it was kinda dull but not too bad. The story was very weird but it was still a nice enough experience

couldn't follow it

I'm not a dim.person but the story was jumping between characters, head hopping everywhere, and across timelines as well. I think.id have to listen to it twice and it wasn't compelling enough for me.to commit to.that. sorr6. Kingie... not one of your best.

Loved it

One of King’s better 21st century books that echoes much of his earlier writing style.

Better than expected

I'm a King fan but tend to be a little disappointed in the ending of some of his stories. This one though, didn't disappoint. Just under 23 hours where the fabulous skills of the narrator had me knowing exactly who was speaking as his ability to differentiate voices between characters was one of the highlights.
Can highly recommend and especially will be looking for others read by DeMunn!

Rewards you for your patience

So glad I did not throw in the towel too soon. Do not le the beginning awkward flow of this story disappoint you and diffidently definitely don't let it dis-wade you. It picks up It flows. Full of action and POV perspective character development and interaction. There are some sci-fi concepts that work really well as a story writing element. It is just really good reading. Excellent.

Really enjoyed this one.

I read this book many years ago. I felt this was a better way to absorb the many characters and adventures criss crossing through this alien adventure with the gore pretty much at a 10. Good narration. Can't really fault this one

Another Stephen King classic very well read

Where does Dreamcatcher rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was very easy to listen to and had just the right amount of tension and thrill for a Stephen King classic.

What other book might you compare Dreamcatcher to, and why?

Dreamcatcher is a mix of Alien and Predator and Stand by Me and Rain man. Not sure if they're all books but if you've seen the movies you'll know what I mean. Oh, and maybe some independence day too!

Have you listened to any of Jeffrey DeMunn’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No,but will now.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. You get very caught up in this book.

Any additional comments?

Highly recommended book.
