Elias Bredsdorff (1912-2002) var en dansk forfatter, litteraturhistoriker og modstandsmand. I sine unge år gjorde han sig bemærket som studenterpolitiker udi kommunismen, som han var meget optaget af. Under krigen tog han imidlertid afstand til DKP og blev i stedet aktiv i modstandsorganisationen Frit Danmark. Som cand.mag. skrev han en lang række værker om dansk litteratur og underviste i mange år om emnet på Cambridge University.
