Publisher's Summary

Dragon Prince Nikolai Vassago's day starts out fairly normal: get up, kick some ass, fondle his beard, take some names.

One minute he's participating in a run-of-the-mill mission, and the next minute, he's rescuing Brooklyn, the woman that is fated to be his, from the clutches of a criminal mastermind.

Nikolai is quite pleased with his fated mate. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Brooklyn.

Living in a religious commune for the majority of her life meant Brooklyn wasn't exposed to all of the outside world's craziness. The moment she turned 18, she was off and running towards whatever new experiences the outside world could give her.

In her quest to experience it all, she tends to jump into situations without weighing the potential consequences until it's too late. Brooklyn just wants to be free to make her own decisions and live her life as she pleases. But in her quest to save herself from the limitations of her old commune life, she lands herself in a dangerous situation, and Nikolai swoops in to her rescue, throwing her on the back of his dragon and flying off into the night.

He's a man-with-a-plan kind of guy, and she's a fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants (not on the back of a dragon!) kind of girl. Nikolai, however, has fate on his side, and whether she is ready to accept her fate or not, it won't be denied. Brooklyn's stubborn, though, and Nikolai will need to use all of his powers to show her that she's exactly where she needs to be.

Contains mature themes.

Another great story. in the world of dragons and there riders..These narrators really do justice to the story. it's like being in there in one minds eye.
one little spoiler I have to say, when the king pushed out his power to save the queen. I really was pleased she lived I really did think she was going to die, I had tears.......

Book 2

Nikolai Vassago lives a life he is happy with. He works hard, is loyal to his family and lives his best life. He feels happy, content and enjoys things the way they are. That is until Brooklyn, unconscious and almost at deaths doors, enters his world.

Book two the in "I Like Big Dragons" series starts where book 1 finished. Once again we are faced with mad men on the loose, prophesies and dragons! We do like our dragons, especially when they are sassy.

This series was a great bit of fun to read. It wasn't in depth, the timeline made no sense and there was a bit of deja vu in regards to the first book, but it was the perfect read on a rainy day. I liked the two main characters and felt that Vale was able to create something nice in this quick read!

This book was read via audible and purchased by myself.

Editor and Beta readers need to give love too !!

To be honest, I wanted to like this book more than the first one but I just can’t because of glaring issues/gaps/mistakes with the storyline and there were several. The book wasn’t fleshed out enough, it feels like it was published off the first draft.
Where were the fairy dragons when Brooklyn is kidnapped and afterwards when she has to take Blythe to the Heart and why couldn’t Story take them ? I could give many other examples where it seems the author has had no feed back prior to publication. The Purists storyline fell flat and there were many missed opportunities to elevate the plot, world building, the fairy dragons and the Riders.
Having said all of the above, I still want to read on !
I will say that I love the book covers and that the books are available on the plus catalogue.
I think Kendall Taylor did a good job of changing her accent for the FMC from book one to book 2, Mason Lloyd should have done the same.
I’m really hoping that there are some loose threads sewn up in the final book and that Blythe’s Grandfather somehow makes his way into Ian’s story.

*Edit - I was happy I got an explanation about Story and why she wouldn’t be anywhere but by Declan’s side in book 3, not as thorough as I would have liked however it was welcomed!!
