Throughout the millennia, mankind has faced epic floods. Evidence shows that the sudden reversal of the planet's magnetic field, a fast pole reversal, had a profound impact on climactic conditions. What was once frozen is now melted. The rising sea levels had to go somewhere. In past civilizations, man persevered because after these floods, the waters always receded. Until they didn't.

Publisher's Summary
A nation cannot be civil without civility. To some, civility cannot be restored until power is regained. A Civil War was a necessary evil, but make no mistake, it was evil.
What do we, as human beings, owe to one another? And, what does it mean to be civilized when civilization is collapsing all around you?
Author Bobby Akart once again masterfully tells a tale of a nation on the edge of societal collapse. For decades, Americans had found themselves increasingly at odds with one another - politically, socially, and culturally.
The Second Civil War will not pit Americans against one another over territory. It will be a fight for the heart and soul of our nation in which everybody will lose.
About the Doomsday series....
With political rancor at an all-time high, the war of words escalates and a political war erupts. Americans are caught in the crosshairs of societal unrest and a mysterious society sworn to protect the constitution against those who threaten it, at all cost.
America has become embroiled in something more than a clash of ideologies. She is now facing a battle in which the blood of tyrants and patriots will be shed. This is a story about a nation divided and what that portends for the future.

Slow, cartoonish and predictable
(spoiler alert, this book sucks) So if you purchased this audio book after listening to the previous four be forewarned that one full hour is wasted at the start of book 5 rehashing what you already read so this is really a just over seven hour audio book. I have listened to 20 Bobby Akart books before this one and this book may have just pushed me away from reading his books anymore. I have been waiting for him to finish the Lone Star Series so I jumped to this series and I am not impressed, the ideas and actions of the characters are childlike. In the book these tactical operators defeat guard dogs by throwing beef jerky because they can see at night that the dogs are hungry, and then the owner of the house is killed with a throwing knife to the throat again in the dark, though a door, while the guy is crouching. The two super warriors then climb to the top of the wall to wait for the roving guards because one of the two tells the other the best way to silently kill the bad guys is to roll off the wall, and then jump up and stab them in the throat and of course it works. A two pound ball peen hammer would be a much better choice for a near silent weapon. So what happens after this? I don't know because I give up. Not everyone can be a Craig Alanson, Terry Mancour, BV Larson, Bernard Cornwell, Taylor Anderson, Pat Frank, Ken Follett, Pierce Brown, A. American, Vaughn Heppner,Johnathan Hollerman, Robert Heinlein, and so many others that I have enjoyed. I have 818 Audible titles according to my app and this will only be the fouth book I have returned.

The finale of this great series!
I have been reading/listening survival thrillers for several years and have to say, Bobby Akart is one of my absolute FAVORITE authors in this area. I have purchased nearly his entire collection in paperback or Audible form. I have not only enjoyed each series, I have learned from each series. If you are reading these genre of literature, you may be reading them for entertainment, as well as research. These series, while entertaining are also full of useful information and historical facts. I highly recommend ALL of Bobby Akart's works! You will not regret your purchase. Thank you Bobby Akart for sharing these with me and all of your current, past and future readers!
