Joanne knows how lucky she is—Richard is a wonderful husband, Evie is the most gorgeous baby girl, they live in a beautiful house—life couldn't be better. But then Richard's twenty-year-old daughter Chloe turns up. Chloe hasn’t spoken to her father since the day he married Joanne two years ago. But with the arrival of her baby sister Evie, Chloe wants to make peace. Richard is delighted, and since Joanne is struggling with the new baby, he suggests Chloe could move in and help.
It sounds like the perfect solution, even if Chloe doesn’t seem to like Joanne very much. But Joanne understands it’s not easy for her, and she's prepared to give her time. But then things happen that make Joanne feel like she’s losing her mind. She misplaces things, misses important appointments, gets dates wrong… Could Joanne be going mad, just like her own mother? Or is something more sinister happening? Is Chloe really here to help? Or has Joanne made a terrible mistake by letting her move in? And is it too late to ask her to leave?

So many twists!
Fast paced, easy to listen to, good twists in the story line. The narrator was great too! Would recommend!

Brilliant book..Had you guessing right to the end with lots of Twists and not knowing who the villain was..Surprise ending

Good narration but couldn’t believe the storyline
After about the second or third time the protagonist questioned herself and wether she could “have been mistaken” I started to lose interest. O assume the author isn’t a mother because no woman in their right mind would leave their young baby with someone after even one of those incidences. I also didn’t believe the twist, it felt a bit forced. Narrated very well though, and overall not the worst book I’ve ever had!

A fun listen, although a bit predictable.

Great suspense , brilliantly read , kept me guessing the twist at the end was fantastic.
Loved this book it was brilliantly read , the characters had depth, I found myself empathising with Joanne, great suspense and the twist at the end was brilliant . Great story

Good Story
I liked this book. Not exactly a Thriller, and a little predictable, but I had to keep reading because I wasn’t quite sure how it would end.

Disappointing plot twist
Well narrated. And good basis for a great story - but the character Chloe was mean and vindictive to the person she was trying to get on side and when this twist came I was left disappointed - what was the point ? Why didn’t she get Joanne on side instead of gaslighting her and making her doubt her self . Lost interest at around chapter 30.
