About this listen

On February 28, 2013, after pleading guilty to violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, John Kiriakou began serving a 30 month prison sentence. His crime: blowing the whistle on the CIA's use of torture on al Qaeda prisoners.

Doing Time Like a Spy is Kiriakou's memoir of his 23 months in prison. Using 20 life skills he learned in CIA operational training, he was able to keep himself safe and at the top of the prison social heap. Including his award-winning blog series "Letters from Loretto", Doing Time Like a Spy is at once a searing journal of daily prison life and an alternately funny and heartbreaking commentary on the federal prison system.

Was a bit repetitive at times but overall very enjoyable listen. Fantastically read by the narrator.

Great book

Overall this was okay to pass the time, but it was to repetitive and lacked real substance. I am however willing to give the Author the benefit of doubt and will try an additional book of his.

Not overly impressed

The author is so smug, obnoxious and insufferable its impossible to listen with any sympathy to anything he has to say. Which is a moot point because if the whole book’s like the first half, the says nothing worth listening to anyway.
If he was half as smart as he thinks he is he wouldn’t have ended up in prison. Also the fact he is a traitor and can’t reconcile with any of his treacherous acts makes this double worth not buying.

Couldn’t finish
