Turned my dog around quickly

My dog had been having all sorts of training issues, not using the bathroom where I wanted him to, leaving the yard, not listening to sit commands, etc. This book helped to turn all of that around in a short time span.

Train your dog to do whatever you want

This book eliminates the communication gap between dogs and humans. Sure, you can’t have a conversation with your dog now, but you can train it to do whatever you want!

Gave me a command order.

It gave a list of commands. What things should be taught first and what are on the 2nd number. It really helped me in teaching my dog to obey my instructions.

Only worth it if you have zero knowledge of dog training

Goes over positive reinforcement training in theory mostly. Was hoping for detailed steps for basic commands. Only a few were mentioned in the hours of listening spent. Nothing here you wouldn’t find in a basic Google search.

I will be recommending this book to anyone I know who is getting a new dog or has existing issues with their dog’s behavior. It works so well that you have to wonder how this information wasn’t available earlier.

Repetitive

This book gives an insight into why positive training is better than more traditional discipline using harsher methods. Unfortunately having reached the end of my tether in Chapter 7, I finally gave up on learning something practical and I gave up listening. My review therefore isn't based on the entirety of the book. I am very surprised at the number of good reviews I read before purchasing. The same message is repeated many times. I did read this in one other review and perhaps should have taken heed.

Dull and repetitive

I don't claim to know much about dogs and dog training and yet this book told me nothing I did not already know. It was depressing. The narrator has an irritating forced sprightly voice and the text runs in repetitive loops. I'm returning this and looking for something more in depth.
