NO GOD

NO CREATURE

NO WAR

CAN COME BETWEEN THEM

The epic enemies-to-lovers fantasy novel filled with hope and heartbreak from number one SUNDAY TIMES bestseller Rebecca Ross

Eighteen-year-old Iris dreams that one day her writing will make a difference. A war between gods is raging, and she’s landed a prestigious job at the Oath Gazette.

But at home, she’s barely holding it together. Her brother is missing on the frontline. Her mother is lost in a haze of addiction. And each night Iris pours her heart out in letters to her brother.

Letters that will never be answered. Or so she thinks…

They’ve made their way into the hands of the last person Iris trusts: Roman Kitt. Her cold, unforgiving rival at the paper.

Drawn together by fate and magic, they form an unlikely connection. They say love conquers all… but can it triumph in a war between gods?

Critic Reviews

“Rich and romantic – if stories had scent, this one would smell like a mug of black tea, the ink ribbons of a typewriter, and that addictive spice called enemies to lovers." (Shelby Mahurin, New York Times bestselling author of Serpent & Dove)

"A sweeping start to a beautiful and romantic new series. Ross weaves her stories in such a vulnerable and delicate way, truly with a style all her own. I adored this book." (Adalyn Grace, New York Times bestselling author of Belladonna)

This book is beautiful

This book was probably one of the most beautiful books I have ever listened to. The romance was amazing and the premise the sweetest. Loved it. The narration was amazing as well.

Well worth the listen

I loved every second of this. The writing is good, the worldbuilding and plot even better, and the narrators are brilliant. The voices are both perfect for the characters and it is a captivating listen.

One of my top 5 for 2024

This is one of the most beautiful heartwarming books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I did not know I needed an historical WW1 esque fantasy with magical typewriters in my life but this book has totally captured my heart. The romance between Roman and Iris is totally swoonworth in a sweet uncomplicated kind of way, which seems completely at home in the world of this book. I truly believe their story could have exsited in 1916. The magical element adds a enchanting depth to the story and the plot twists and cliffhanger endin left me brethless.

I read this as audiobook/kindle in tandem. The British accents of the voice actors really added to this story. They were perfectly cast, sounding like young hopeful lovers torn apart by war. Their vocal range was also highly commendable

Without doubt this series will be in my top 5 for 2024. Yes I realise it is only January.

Not my cup of tea

I did enjoy the characters, but I think the seriousness of the story took away from the storyline of the characters. I don’t think it’s a terrible book by any means, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Just magical

I held off getting this for a while because it mentioned that the main plot was an exchange of letters so I thought that most of the book would be in that format. That was not appealing to me. But it isn't like that at all. The author created such a magical, wholesome book through this. The romance was so sweet. This book made me feel nostalgic, like I was watching a Disney cartoon as a child for the first time again and yet the writer still managed to weave grief, fantasy and war into it. Just brilliant. The narrators also did a fantastic job, This has hands down been my favourite audiobook for all of the above reasons.

I love this so much

Just a perfect enemies to lovers story with heaps going on but somehow none of it is distracting.

I love them. I love it. This story made me so happy (and sad, but I listened to the sequel immediately so if you don’t like being sad, absolutely listen to both back to back)
