About this listen

War looms on the horizon, but Selene’s training as a wizard must begin...even though her age makes success nearly unattainable.

Will searches for a solution, but their only hope may be a dangerous bargain with the king. The fate of two nations lies on his shoulders, and the future is paved with violence. With few options, he needs the aid of uncertain allies and dubious friends. Traitors lurk among them, and soon he will be forced to choose who to trust - and who to sacrifice. For a terrible power has arrived in Darrow, and the price of victory will be paid in blood.

I'm only devastated because I have finished the series to date! Brilliant storyline that moves at an enthralling pace that doesn't get bogged down with minutiae. Great characters (even the Goddamn Cat!) Great plot. Great narration.

Another excellent edition to the Art of the Adept series leaving me wanting more!

I’ve seen quite a few posts about the audio irritating people but honestly it adds to the experience making it seem like the narrator is near and far at different moments. Keeps you on your toes.

Gripping

This was an excellent addition to the series with great progression for our MC and other characters as well as the series to. The narration was excellent and I couldn’t ask for more. Over 15/15

i enjoyed the story progression and development of the side characters. there were however a few times when the narrator's phone notifications ping that really broke the immersion.

the narration also had random quality drops mid sentence or paragraph as if it was poorly edited or he didn't start a sentence over.

had this not occurred again (and more frequently) in the next book, I would have accepted it. I'm quite miffed that it hasn't been caught by the editor.

great character development but..

Is there a book five? How long before the next book is available? Just love this series, will Will kill the
King? I hope so (evil) the humour is great that puts a smile on my face not all serious.

Great

I found a lot of the developed interpersonal stories and world expansion intriguing. Having recently seen the map of the human world, there is a lot to go.

Probably my favourite book of the series.
