In letzter Minute bereiten sich die Bienen auf den Überfall der Hornissen vor. Die Wachsbereiterinnen verengen das Tor mit Wachs, sodass immer nur eine Hornisse nach der anderen hindurchpasst. Als die Bienenkönigin die letzten Anweisungen gibt, ist schon das Surren der herannahenden Räuber zu hören. Angespannt erwarten die Bienen die erste Hornisse am Tor. Als der Eingang sich verdunkelt, verhalten sich die Bienen im Stock so still, dass die Hornissen glauben, der Stock schliefe. Doch als die ersten acht Hornissen in den Stock eingedrungen sind, gibt die Bienenkönigin den Befehl an die Bienen, ihr Reich zu verteidigen...
