Leopold ist ein junger Adliger, der faul in den Tag hineinlebt und sich damit zufriedengibt, entweder zu schlafen oder fettes Essen in sich hineinzustopfen. Das ändert sich schlagartig, als sein Vater ihn zwingt, sich einer uralten Tradition zu unterwerfen: dem Pfeil des Schicksals. Im Zuge dessen gerät der junge Mann in den mysteriösen Wald von Gut Borkum. Dort trifft er auf eine Frau, die durch einen Fluch in einen Fuchs verwandelt wurde. Um diesen Jahrhunderte alten Bann zu brechen, ist Leopold zu allem bereit, auch wenn das bedeutet, dass er nun zum Helden werden muss. Erneut findet sich Leopold im Wald von Gut Borkum wieder. Dieses Mal ist er vollkommen allein, das wird aber nicht lange so bleiben.
