Karl fährt mit einem Schlitten mit, weit in die Luft, zum Eispalast. Die Eisprinzessin selbst war der Kutscher. Sie küsst ihn und sein Herz wird zu einem kalten Eisklumpen. Er beginnt seine Familie zu vergessen und auch Iris. Im Frühling nimmt Iris an, dass Karl tot sei, doch die Vögel glaubten das nicht, und so begibt sie sich auf eine lange Suche. Wird sie ihren Karl jemals wiederfinden?
