Publisher's Summary

Vivienne is one of “those” people, the kind who believes in love at all costs. Broken hearts are a natural product of that, and Viv is used to dealing with it by simply ignoring the ache and moving on to a new love. But this time, she can’t seem to shake the pain - until Carter comes along, handing out easy smiles and the kind of attention that makes her not feel so fractured after all.

Everybody knows Carter as this cool, confident, charismatic guy. He has a penchant for saying just the right things at just the right times, being just the kind of friend that’s needed in the midst of sorrow. But as he and Viv embark on what was only ever intended to be a friendship, the idea of Carter as the “perfect” guy is challenged, and the real person could very well just be the next guy to break Viv’s heart.

Old hurts are unraveled, familial bonds are tested, and hearts are put on the line in this story of two people who didn’t mean to fall in love.

Please note that this is a spin-off of A Crazy Little Thing Called Love and does contain major spoilers for that title.

I could not get past the fake accent

I struggled to FINISH. I did not like French Accent it took away from what could have been a good story.

Love this story line

I must say I enjoyed this story line. I like how Christina gave the Carter's character depth and gave Viv realistic actions to how he was making her feel. I like this book better than the first one of the series because I can relate to the characters.

Discover how to find love with a bag full of pain

Great! Love Story! Carter and Vivienne in my opinion reveal how you can be loved while dragging around a baggage full pain. Pain can definitely fuel the way we give love and receive love.

Magnifique!!!

Wesleigh is the bom dot com. Loved the accent and the super cute story! Sean was even on his A-Game with the accent.

Cute, but NOT my favorite

Wesleigh is one of, if not my favorite female narrator, but this phony French accent was the definitive downfall of this book. And while I enjoyed getting a glimpse into Simon and Roman's life, this book felt like a lot about them and Vivian and Carter were still supporting csst in their own book. I do love me some Ms Jones and her writing style, so I will be moving forward to book 3 in this series.

not sure!!!

OK so I'm not sure how I really feel about this book. I loved the first one in still on the fence on how I feel about this one. CCJ is my girl and I think the reason for liking this book is because I love her so yes I will give book 3 a chance

Realness Hitting Home

It took some time to get into this story perhaps it was because I related to Carter and felt wholeheartedly what he later disclosed during his “Love Jones” moment at UG. The fear associated with love is a gentle balancing act that he and Vivian struggled with. Fear will have you throwing up brick walls to protect your heart, have you continually getting hurt or have you running away whenever you start feeling feelings.
Christina displayed the ability to not bore me with the will they, won’t they of the main characters. Each of them displayed a realness and complexity that allows you to get lost into them.
I did listen to the audible companion and it was great even though Wesleigh’s French accent threw me off at first but I got into it towards the middle of the book and Sean was amazing. It was also super nice to catch up with our favs from book one Roman and Simone. 4 Stars
