Best be nimble, best be quick, I'm right here and you're my pick...The last thing Ford Elkhart remembers is walking his girlfriend back to her car. Now he's lying tied and gagged on a cold, dark floor, with only one chance to escape before he ends up like the bones surrounding him...Assistant State's Attorney Daphne Montgomery is devastated by her son's disappearance, and is immediately convinced that his kidnapping is connected to the white supremacist she's just had jailed for murder. Or is he a pawn in an even more dangerous game?

Never want to hear the name Daphne again
The story was great the writing awful and Daphne in a southern accent horrendous, I actually felt like killing Daphne myself, it was my mistake I was looking for a crime novel but this was like romance and soft porn (yuk) if all that had been left out I would have really enjoyed the twists in the plot. Karen Rose would actually make a good Author if she just stuck to the crime but all the other stuff makes it more Mills and Boon which is ok if thats what your looking for, I was not, probably Audibles fault for putting it in that classification on their site. Lee Child she is not.

slow and awful sex scenes
This is not a recommended listen. It's slow, boring, and the sex scenes are unnecessary! I thought this was a crime thriller not a mills and boon! I'm not averse to some romance/sex in a thriller but only if its well written and a small part of the plot. I rarely skip parts of books but I skipped lots of this book and didn't miss anything important.

I won't miss you!
What would have made Did You Miss Me? better?
One of my least favourite listens. I am 13 hours in and have really struggled both with the narrator and the story. I am finding it overly complicated with far to much repeated detail. I am not sure I will be able to listen until the end.
Would you ever listen to anything by Karen Rose again?
No
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I just don't find it an easy to listen to voice. ...
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disapointment

Avoid narrator will drive you mad
Would you try another book written by Karen Rose or narrated by Jennifer Woodward?
20 hr book. The usual Karen rose fare so easy listening. However, listened less than an hour and had to give up. The terrible narrator swings from whining to shouting with aggression. The difference a good narrator makes is so important, you don't realise how talented they are until you hear a bad performance.
Would you ever listen to anything by Karen Rose again?
Possibly
Would you be willing to try another one of Jennifer Woodward’s performances?
Never never never

Gripping thriller
A real plot twister of a book. Part of a series but the books do work as standalones. Starts right in with a kidnapping and moves fast although very long. Lots of threads to keep hold of, but the narrator was excellent.

Possibily not her best novel
I have enjoyed her previous novels but this one did not quite come up to the same level possibly because I felt that the suspense in the novel and the sexual encounters were out of balance. I found myself muttering I know, I know and trying to speed through those sections, there were just too many of them and they, in the end, added nothing to the story and in some ways destroyed the pace. The two main protaganists Daphne and Joseph appear in more minor character roles in the previous novel No One Left to Tell although it would not be necessary to have read this one before Did you Miss Me? it might add something to the enjoyment.
The book starts with promise with red herrings being dragged all over the place by the real killer. It is well narrated and other people may not feel as I do.

Good story, but I found the narrator let it down. Unnecessary accents and sex scenes in the book.
