Story
No matter what was happening in Jennifer Weiner's life - whether good, bad, or very, very ugly - her mother, Fran, would say the same thing: It's all material. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author and "one of the biggest names in popular fiction" ( USA Today), beloved on Twitter and hailed as "an unlikely feminist enforcer" ( The New Yorker), takes the raw stuff of her personal life and spins it into a collection of personal essays as uproariously funny and heartfelt as the best of Tina Fey and Nora Ephron.

Story
Adam Stern was a student at a state medical school before being selected to train as a psychiatry resident at one of the most prestigious programs in the country. His new and initially intimidating classmates were high achievers from the Ivy League and other elite universities. Faculty raved about the group as though the residency program had won the lottery, nicknaming them “The Golden Class”, but would Stern ever prove that he belonged? In his memoir, Stern pulls back the curtain on the intense and emotionally challenging lessons he and his fellow doctors learned.

Story
Maeve Higgins was a best-selling memoirist and comedian in her native Ireland when, at the grand old age of 31, she left the only home she’d ever known in search of something more. Like many women in their early 30s, she both was and was not the adult she wanted to be. At once smart, curious, and humane, Maeve in America is the story of how Maeve found herself, literally and figuratively, in New York City.

Publisher's Summary
The Irish Times number one best seller
An Post Biography of the Year
Séamas O'Reilly's mother died when he was five, leaving him, his 10 brothers and sisters and their beloved father in their sprawling bungalow in rural Derry. It was the 1990s; the Troubles were a background rumble (most of the time), and Séamas, at that point, was more preoccupied with dinosaurs, Star Wars and the actual location of heaven than the political climate.
Did Ye Hear Mammy Died? is a book about a family of argumentative, loud, musical, sarcastic, grief-stricken siblings, shepherded into adulthood by a man whose foibles and reticence were matched only by his love for his children and his determination that they would flourish. It is the moving, often amusing and completely unsentimental story of a boy growing up in a family bonded by love, loss and fairly relentless mockery.
Critic Reviews
"A gorgeous memoir." (Pandora Sykes)
"Tender, sad and side-splittingly funny." (Annie MacManus)
"A heartfelt tribute to an alarmingly large family held together by a quietly heroic father." (Arthur Mathews, co-creator of Father Ted and Toast of London)

Hilarious and heartbreaking.
I loved the warmth, humour and insight into life in Ireland as the author regaled me with tales of his family's loss and life with their devoted dad.

Beautifully read and written
Blown away by the seamless telling of the tale of Seamus’ and family. Cried, laughed and cheered his observations on life on after the tragedy of his Mammy’s passing. Beautiful book. Enjoyed immensely. Brilliant. Thank you Seamus.

A wonderful memoir
It felt like I was invited into the authors world of memories and reflections with great generosity of spirit. Made all the more special that it is the author reading it to you. Wonderful storytelling. Great moments of humour alongside grief. Also an insight into life in Northern Ireland from the mid 1980s. The stories will stay with me for a while to come. Thank you.

Laughed, Cried, laughed some more
I've never read a memoir I've enjoyed, and this was a delight. I cried with laughter, with grief, with the beauty of insights from his take on the world as a child. The pace, the performance, the turn of phrase were all outstanding. Thankyou.
