Den narrativen Rahmen bildet die Geschichte der Entdeckung der Tasaday im Jahre 1971, sowie die Geschichte des darauf folgenden Anthropologenstreits. Kaleidoskop gleich werden Textbruchstücke und Zitate eingeblendet, welche sich jedoch in ihrer Abfolge einer stringenten Narration entziehen. Ausgangsmaterial hierzu sind Tonbandaufzeichnungen von Gesprächen der Tasaday, welche von dem Linguisten Lawrence A. Reid in Lautschrift transkribiert und in die englische Sprache übersetzt worden sind. Klandestin ist die Lebenswelt der Tasaday. Sie entzieht sich dem romantisch-idealisierten, authentischen Naturparadies. Wind ist kein Wind, Vogelgesang kein Vogelgesang.
