Story
Being a hit man has its perks, but I never thought getting an accidental mooning by an attractive PI while he’s caught on a fence would be one of them. While it’s not exactly love at first sight, he’s captured my interest and won’t let go. Suddenly, I find myself caught in a game of cat and mouse, determined to attract the attention of Jackson, the PI who should be my enemy. He pretends like he’s not flattered by my flowers and the mentions of my totally-not-fictitious blow-up doll, Randy (or was it Dandy?), but I know better.

Is it really wrong to want to murder your boss? Dylan has worked for Gabe for two years. Two long years of sarcastic comments. Two long years of insults, and having to redo the coffee pot four times in the mornings to meet his exacting standards. Not surprisingly he has devoted a lot of time to increasingly inventive ways to murder Gabe. From stabbing him with a cake fork, to garrotting him with his expensive tie, Dylan has thought of everything. However, a chance encounter opens his eyes to the attraction that has always lain between them, concealed by the layers of antipathy.

Story
Homicide detective Levi Abrams is barely holding his life together. He’s reeling from the fallout of a fatal shooting, and his relationship with his boyfriend is crumbling. The last thing he’s prepared for is a serial killer stalking the streets of Las Vegas. Or how he keeps getting thrown into the path of annoyingly charming bounty hunter Dominic Russo. Dominic likes his life free of complications. That means no tangling with cops—especially prickly, uptight detectives. But when he stumbles across one of the Seven of Spades’s horrifying crime scenes, he can’t let go, despite Levi’s warnings to stay away. The Seven of Spades is ruthless and always two moves ahead. Worst of all, they’ve taken a dangerously personal interest in Levi and Dominic. Forced to trust each other, the two men race to discover the killer’s identity, revealing hidden truths along the way and sparking a bond neither man expected. But that may not be enough to protect them.

There were some really good stories in here, but my favoriet was by Jordan Castillo Price, with Rhys Ford a close second. Really liked the trade your soul to the Devil stories and how different they all were made this collection a fun listen.
And with Greg Tremblay narrorating, it was like a cherry on top of a sunday! Love his preformanse, he got so menny voices and dialects its a delight to listen to!

Simply fantastic!
Infernal Affairs by Jordan L. Hawk
Oh, this one was fun! I mean, the whole thing was hilarious and still manage to be full of suspense. Ralgath and Chess are wonderful, but Fluffpaw? Fluffpaw was adorable :P
The feelings growing between the MCs felt real and soon, I found myself wishing with all my heart that they will be able to find their HEA.
No surprise, really. Jordan L. Hawk always manages to bespell me ♥
Collared by T.A. Moore
This one is complex and you know from the beginning that it won't be a traditional romance. I love the way each of the characters is flawed, and yet you get them, you understand and care for them. A true noir crime set in a paranormal Universe, genius! The darkest of the bunch, but really, really good.
Counterfeit Viscount by Ginn Hale
A romance born between bullets and tops hats, this is a great story, truly delightful. And putting it after 'Collared' was an excellent choice.
Wonderland City by Rhys Ford
A twisted version of 'Alice in Wonderland', full of exciting adventure and romance. I haven't read a lot by this author, but this story certainly makes me want to read more :)
Dark Favors by Jordan Castillo Price
Oooooookay. I love the world-building in this one, and I really love the story. But the romance? I'm sorry, but nope. The sex feels too rapey for my tastes and I simply couldn't get over it.
And about the narration, Greg Tremblay does a fantastic job with this anthology.

Some real gems here!
Infernal Affairs
By Jordan L. Hawk
Ralgath wants nothing more than to work as a crossroads demon. Too bad he botched his first assignment when a very sexy mortal turned the tables on him. Now he has one chance to get his job back: find two demons who vanished in the human realm. Unfortunately, doing so means teaming up with Chess—the very mortal who cost Ralgath his job in the first place.
Chess has spent the last three years using their infernally granted powers to do good. But now Ralgath has a new offer for them: help him find the missing demons, and he’ll return Chess’s soul.
After their last encounter, Chess is the last person Ralgath should be interested in. But the passion that initially drew them together still burns hotter than the flames of the Underworld. Chess claims they never meant to hurt Ralgath, but can Ralgath afford to trust them? Because while Ralgath may have Chess’s soul, he’s increasingly certain Chess owns his heart.

I super loved this! I think this story alone is worth the entire anthology – it’s funny, sweet, creative, well-developed and amazingly – pretty short! I hope we see more from this world!

DNF This wasn’t my cup of tea and I didn’t like the gore/premise.
Counterfeit Viscount
By Ginn Hale
When Prodigal devils begin disappearing, Archie Fallmont, Viscount of Granville, finds himself in the unenviable position of being required to investigate. He has, after all, sold his soul to the handsome devil—and flashy dresser—Nimble Hobbs. Now Archie must join Nimble, sleuthing out the knotty secrets of noble families and an infamously exclusive club.
But as bullets fly and top hats fall, Archie begins to fear he and Nimble are up against much worse than just dreadful poetry recitals. Not only is a murderer on the loose, but Archie is growing disturbingly fond of having a devil around.
Review
DNF – I couldn’t get into this. Later I found out this is part of the author’s other series. Makes sense. Maybe if I’d read the other books this one would have appealed more. The writing seemed nice ☺

Asuka Kawashima is a man without dreams.
Nightmares plague humanity and cross into the waking world—chasing after their dreamers and transforming them into hideous monsters that haunt New York City at night. When Asuka is faced with the choice between dying or selling his soul to the Devil, he offers it in exchange for the chance to continue protecting people. But the Devil is sly, and while he takes Asuka’s ability to dream, making him immune to nightmares, it also removed Asuka’s abstract sense of dreaming. Now life is gray, hopeless, and without wishes.
A chance meeting five years later leads Asuka to Merrick Grace, a man who, despite the dismal world around them, still believes there will be a day when monsters cease to exist. When the Devil reappears, asking for a favor in return for his soul, Asuka must make another difficult decision…
If the chance to dream again—to share a life with Merrick, full of hope and happiness—is worth the risk of almost certain death.

I admit to not being a fan of this author’s writing so I didn’t read/listen to this.
Wonderland City
By Rhys Ford
When Xander Spade went through the Looking Glass, he wasn’t looking for salvation. He’d been running from the devil who took his soul, only to fall prey to the greatest monster in Wonderland City, the Queen of Hearts. Years later, the Queen is dead and Xander has a chance to go through the Looking Glass and back home where he belongs.
Xander’s devil wants him to find a little girl who escaped into Wonderland City, before her presence brings down an apocalypse of uncontrollable chaos to the already mad world. Along with Jean Michel, the former Knave of Hearts, Xander now is in a race against time to find the missing child before all Hell breaks loose and he loses his chance to go home.
Review
This is very typical Rhys Ford – lots of wonderful descriptions, lots of action and a little bit of steam! This follows the Alice in Wonderland model and if you’re a fan of the author or the original story or dime crime stories this will be for you!

Dark Favors
By Jordan Castillo Price
Most folks in the crumbling metropolis of Calvary are ignorant sheep, but not Johnny Lockheart. He’s Chosen. Half a lifetime ago, when he was young and stupid, he sold his soul to the Devil… and he’s been regretting that choice ever since.
Now the Devil is back with a new and improved offer. Kill a major TV personality and walk free with his soul. It should be simple, if not for the star’s bodyguard. Adam is Chosen, too, and he has no compunctions about using his powers. When the two of them rub up against each other, their raw chemistry ignites—but there’s no way he’d let Johnny go through with the murder. The only way out is to cut off the power at its source. Is their connection enough to rid Calvary of the Devil’s influence for good?
Review
This along with Jordan L Hawk’s story are my two favorite in the anthology. This was wonderfully dark and well written with just enough danger to keep things on edge. I really loved the “favors” idea – it kind of reminded me of that movie with Justin Timberlake – “In Time” – in any case it was super and highly recommended!
Audio
Well of course – I had to wait til this was in audio because Greg Tremblay is awesome and he absolutely takes this to the next level of awesomeness!!
Highly recommended in this format.

I wish story descriptions had been given
I would have eliminated 3 of the selections as styles/topics that I have no interest in and didn't finish the stores. I bought the anthology because I enjoy Rhys Ford but I found her "Alice in Wonderland" story confusing. Perhaps I wasn't paying enough attention but I don't know how Xander lost his soul and were some of the characters vampires? Greg Tremblay did an excellent job and his mastery of dialects makes him stand out as a reader.
