Publisher's Summary

Sultan Gadaffi has escaped from Libya with a fistful of dangerous secrets. The British Government want ex-Special Forces operative Steve Range, the go-to man for any Black-Ops missions, to lead an ultra-covert mercenary group to seize him from his near-impregnable desert stronghold. Saed is defended by Tuareg warriors armed to the teeth with stolen NATO hardware.

If Range's team can somehow overcome them, then they will earn themselves gold bullion worth $500 million. But as the bullets begin to fly and the body count rises, Range realises that he's been double-crossed. Unwilling to lose the gold, he begins to contemplate cutting a deal with the devil.

average

I didn't like this as much as Phils other books. the first half I was really into and then it all got a bit crazy, wildly ott events etc and I just ended up getting a little bored. it's probably just about worth a read if your a fan of Phil or like his other couple of books but unfortunately as much as I wanted to, I just didn't enjoy this that much.

A good yarn

This is an enjoyable romp with a black-ops team heading into Libya on a dark mission. The story was good, the few twists and turns were splendid and the narration was spot on. The time flew by, as I really enjoyed it.

Cracking story!

The first rule of writing well is to write about what you know and Phil's experience of special opps and the military in general makes this fast paced, action packed story a pleasure to read. His unpretentious, shoot from the hip writing style really shines through and Leighton Pugh's narration completes the package nicely. I'll be looking out for more Blackstone 6 stories in the future. Great stuff..... keep them coming, Phil!

Disappointed

I am not sure if it was ghostwritten or not. Technical skills are poor - too purple and vague - forca ghostwriter. Yet, the style is different from the first book and military presentation is dubious... Disappointing...

A gripping and exciting book from start to finish

I should start by saying I know Phil Campion through his Autobiographical, social media and tv work but, I wasnt sure he would be able to do fiction. I was very wrong this story, the characters and the plot were all top notch. It was narrated brilliantly and was backed up with just the right amount of technical info about the gear being used by the operators. I felt if you know Phil Campion then you know Steve Range. I will now listen to the other books in this series knowing I can expect to be taken on a great adventure.
