Vermatscht und zugenäht, denkt sich der Bärbeiß und schaut missmutig aus dem Fenster. Da geschieht etwas Merkwürdiges. Der Bärbeiß spürt ein Kribbeln im Bauch, und am Himmel schwebt eine wundersame Wolke vorüber. Sie scheint ihm zuzulächeln. Sieht sie nicht aus wie eine Bärbeißin?
Auf jeden Fall ist sie das Schönste, was der Bärbeiß je gesehen hat. Die Bewohner von Timbuktu erkennen den Bärbeiß gar nicht mehr wieder, so freundlich ist er plötzlich. Das Tingeli, der Königspinguin, die Graureihers und die Hasen sind sich einig: Sie wollen ihren alten grummeligen Bärbeiß wiederhaben!
